How to Get Free Beauty Samples

By Vilma Ladaga

The beauty business is a multi-billion dollar industry. All of the top International cosmetic brands will offer all types of incentives just to assist in the promotion of new product lines and established brands. A number of Companies offer 2 for 1 deals on particular brands because it's a way to boost sales and introduce new product lines to loyal customers who purchase items on a regular basis. Loyalty and repeat orders are the backbone of any business and provide the security that Companies need to be able to invest into research and development of new products.

While looking after a loyal customer base is important it is also essential for the beauty product manufacturers to find ways to attract new customers. Maybe these potential customers are not aware of new products on the market or maybe they are loyal to another brand and so not like to change. Cosmetics can be expensive so there is financial risk and trust involved for any buyer considering moving away from a brand they have used for years to another who they have never tried.

This is why offering free beauty samples was introduced. Most of the top cosmetic manufacturers now offer the freebies to anyone who provide their contact address. The person wanting to take advantage of the free sample offers will normally have to pay towards the postage costs but when you can try free samples that can amount up to $250.00 of cosmetic freebies then paying towards postage costs would be a minor financial outlay.

If you go into any department store then you will see sales assistants offering a free spray of a wide range of perfumes just to give you a sample of what it will actually smell like on your particular skin. In some cases you can even have a full makeover for free so you can try lots of different cosmetic treatments in one go. This type of promotion has been going on for years so you can be sure it's worthwhile for the cosmetic Companies to offer this type of free service to potential clients because they will benefit in the long term through sales.

The downside to offering freebies to potential future customers in department stores is simply numbers. There is massive promotional opportunities online with an unlimited supply of potential customers to tap into. This is why many of the major cosmetics Companies now offer freebies and free sample giveaways as standard. They know they will have access to the contact details that will allow them to follow up on the person who takes up the offer of the free sample.
In many instances this can lead to further trial offers and free samples as an incentive to the potential buyer to trust the brand. The Companies have the confidence that if someone tries a beauty product in their range they will be impressed enough to order in the future.

Why not take advantage of the cosmetic Companies offer and take the opportunity of registering for the free beauty samples. You have nothing to lose and so much to gain with offers like these.
Web sites like Money Save UK offer a wide range of beauty freebies, free samples and giveaways. You will have a small financial outlay on postage in most cases but when you consider you will be getting so much more in monitory value back in top of the range free beauty products it has to be an attractive proposition. But not only that, you can give yourself a free makeover for a fraction of the cost!

Vilma Ladaga loves saving money and you can find free beauty samples, freebies and free trials of all the top cosmetic brands on her web site http://www.moneysaveuk.com/

Manicure Safety - How to Ensure Your Fingernails Are Kept Healthy

By Jennie Armato

Having professional manicures is something that many women have done on a frequent basis. While having someone else do your manicure may seem like the best option, this is not always the case. Manicures can lead to nail fungus or infections if the proper sanitation procedures are not taken. The easy, low cost alternative to professional manicures is to perform your own.

You might be surprised at what you can pick up from a manicure or pedicure. Nail fungus and bacterial infections can occur and, on very rare occasions, manicures can expose you to deadly diseases such as HIV/AIDS. Of course, the chances of you contracting HIV from a manicure is extremely low but why even let that slight chance exist if you can prevent the chance of you getting it?

One of the most important things you can do is check out the shop before patronizing it. Getting a referral from a friend is one of the best ways to find a good manicurist. However, that is only true if your friend knows what to look for in a good manicurist. Ask your friend about the sanitation of the manicurist. Are there disinfectants in the area of the work station? Is the shop clean overall? Are the other manicurists seen cleaning their equipment after clients? These are all little things that can be overlooked. If your friend does not have answers for these questions, tell them to smarten up and start to pay attention.

If you are not sure of the manicurist that you are going to, buy and take your won manicure and pedicure kit with your. Simply inform the manicurist that, no offense, but you would prefer to have your own personal kit used. This is a sure way of knowing were the equipment has been. Your concern about sanitation and safety may also prompt your manicurist to be even more cautious when working on your hands or feet.

The idea of performing your own manicures and pedicures may not seem that appealing at first thought. However, you can turn manicures and pedicures into "me time". Of course there is a sense of pampering that comes from having someone else do these self-care things for women.
Think about how wonderful it could be to spend a day relaxing and pampering yourself without the intrusion of someone else? Imagine a spa day that you plan out for yourself--a day where you give yourself facials and exfoliating and giving yourself a manicure and pedicure. Spend time soothing those workweek blues out of your body.

Of course, some of us are not skilled enough to perform our own manicures. If that is the case, there are steps you can take to insure that you are getting the best manicure care possible. The first thing you want to do is observe. By watching the way that the manicurist works on others, you will be able to gauge a few important factors. Cleanliness is one of those factors. If the manicurist is not changing emery boards between clients or cleaning the pedicure tub, you might want to move on.

If you view unsanitary procedures at the salon where you get your nails done, speak up. The manager or shop owner should be aware of the bad rep their manicurist is giving them. If unsanitary conditions at a salon cause you to get some type of nail infections you should make a call to the state cosmetology board. Once that particular shop is flagged as an unsanitary place, action will be taken. The cosmetology board will want to head off any more complaints.

Rather than just having long hair, many men have longer hair at the front or the sides than the back. By using straighteners, you can control your hair and style it as you want it.

Hair clippers are a fabulous way to save money if you have or want really short hair. Rather than go to the barbers, why not invest in a set of hair clippers and cut your hair yourself? You'll save time as well as money, and you can have your hair cut as often as you like.

Shaving products have improved over the last few years, and many people are going back to a wet shave. With advances in razors, and new male grooming products for before, during and after the shave, you're sure to find the right products for you. Keep your face smoother for longer with scrubs, shaving oils and post shave moisturisers. It might also be time to think about changing your razor too.

If you're shaving with a disposable razor, using the cheapest shampoo from the supermarket and wondering why your skin and hair don't look and feel as good as they could do, why not treat yourself to some male grooming products and see how much better your skin and hair can look and feel?

Lets Style Up With CHI

By Jones Louise

It is really good to know that these days' people have become more conscious about their hair. It is true that styling up the hair has been practiced throughout the ages. But the consciousness about the health and growth of the hair has increased a lot in the recent years. People are becoming more and more serious about their outer appearance as well as they have become more health conscious. And behind all these there always remained the contribution of science and technology. With the advancement of science and technology things have become much more easier these days.

One such notable contribution of the latest technology is undoubtedly the CHI hair straighteners. In the time span of very few years the CHI hair straighteners have made its place in almost every household and has become the hot favorite of almost all fashion conscious people.
With its unique styling technology and various new functional features it has won the heart of everyone who thinks of styling up their hair with a hair straightener. Therefore there is no mistake if the CHI hair irons are called the most popular styling tool of this era. It has become the best seller by the introduction of the ceramic plates. And within a few years of its first appearance in virtually eclipsed all other hair straightening products available in the market for its unique advantages. It perhaps possesses the fastest heat up technology and thus saving a lot of time for its users.

Thus in this way the CHI hair straighteners and hair irons have gradually raised to become the hot favorite of all fashion conscious people. The other notable thing about CHI is obviously the price. It comes at such a reasonable price that is affordable for everybody. You cannot say that it's a cheap product, but still even you cannot say that the cost is too high. It's just in the middle of both. Thus making it the item of choice for any class of people. And the designs of the CHI products are really unmatched with any other product available in the market.

One of the most notable things about CHI is the use of high quality ceramic plates. The ceramic plates used by CHI are much useful. They emits negative ions which does a lot of help by closing the cuticle layer of the hair and gives a smooth look to the hair. The hair is made smooth and silky and as the cuticle layers are closed the natural moisture of the hair gets locked in. The emitted negative ions also do a great help in reducing frizziness of the hair. Thus the CHI hair irons are helpful and friendly to the hair in a lot many ways.

But though having so many features of the CHI flat irons there are also some arguments against it. Criticism is often done mentioning the fact that CHI flat irons does not have Tourmaline plates infused on Ceramic plates. It is true that the ceramic plates emits negative ions, but Tourmaline plates emits about sis times more negative ions than Ceramic plates. Why CHI does not use Tourmaline plates is really unknown. But still without the Tourmaline plates CHI is still the top rated Flat iron available in the market. And is the hot favorite of consumers and professionals alike.

Attractive chi straightener and chi flat iron you can get here at cheapest price.

Summer Hair Care - Grease is the New Shine?

By Megan Winegar

For years, shampoo commercials have been telling us that we needed shiny, silky, bouncy hair. And actually, shampoo commercials will probably continue to do that. The fashion world, however, may not agree.

The new styles are leaning toward something a little more dirty: frizzy clouds, stringy, separated locks, teased pompadours. The super-straight hairstyles that have been popular are still in, but because flat ironing causes considerable damage, many women are waiting between washes so that their hair doesn't have to be fried as often.

In many ways, washing hair less often makes sense. Shampoo has always taken the necessary oil out of hair, which means the scalp produces even more oil than it normally would. After hair grows accustomed to being washed less often, the oil production goes down and recycled hair is less grungy. (For many people, though, this means going even longer between washings.)

For some people, it isn't even a matter of style or hair health - it's just easier. People with curly hair who prefer the straight look might spend two hours washing, putting in product, drying, putting in more product and straightening. It's a long, complicated process that leaves hair full of chemicals.

This style seems tailor-made for summer. Summer hair has always been a problem. The sun dries it out and makes it frizzy or straw-like. In humid places, it curls where it isn't supposed to or goes frizzy. Gentle shampoos and curling products can help, but why not work with the style at hand?

Avoiding situations where hair has more opportunity to dry out (blow-drying, flat-ironing) minimize the damage already being done by the sun. Finding ways to use the frizz to a stylish advantage can make this summer more carefree and less expensive.

However, eschewing all shampoo is a bad idea. Some women have decided that shampoo isn't ever healthy and choose to wash their hair with hot water, conditioner, baking soda, or vinegar rinses. Trichologist Lisa Akbari says this is a bad idea because it creates a waxy buildup on the scalp that can lead to scalp irritation and itchy bacteria havens.

Higher end shampoos like Bumble and Bumble de Coco shampoo or Paul Mitchell products are usually more concentrated and can protect and balance scalps. With fewer washings, more expensive shampoos are feasible, even for people who don't like to spend a lot on hair care. They last longer because not as much is required for each washing, and when someone only washes three or four times per week, they stretch even more. Sounds like a carefree summer for us all.

Jojoba Oil to Condition Hair and Scalp

By Tim Faber

Healthy and beautiful hair and scalp are something everybody yearns to have, regardless of age or sex. However, constant exposure to pollutants in the air as well as harsh products and processes we use in the name of beauty can cause untold damage to our skin and hair.

Instead of increasingly adding additional harsh chemicals to your daily hair and skin care regimen, you should choose all natural Jojoba Oil products. Safe, effective, and environmentally friendly, Jojoba Oil is great used alone or with your favorite shampoo or conditioner.

Conditioning For Your Hair

The follicle shaft often becomes dry and brittle due to constant use heat, styling and coloring products - promoting breaking, frizz and split-ends. As we age, we begin to produce less of the substance known as sebum that helps keep our hair and scalp properly moisturized. Deep conditioning or hot oil treatments from a salon can help combat the problem but it is also expensive and time consuming.

Using a product containing Jojoba Oil can keep your hairstyle shiny and well moisturized without the outrageous expense or excessive time required by a salon treatment. This amazing oil can actually encourage growth and help with thinning, too!

Jojoba oil is also a great way to treat dry scalp and dandruff as well. When the scalp becomes overly dry it can begin to flake off and itch. It is very similar in properties to the natural oils your body produces and can give your scalp the proper moisture required to keep it healthy.

How Does It Help the Scalp?

Just as it properly conditions and moisturizes the scalp, it can help maintain subtle, soft skin on the rest of the body. Derived from the beans of the Jojoba shrub, it has no color or odor making it ideal for conditioning and moisturizing skin without leaving behind a greasy film.

It is hypoallergenic and does not oxidize or become rancid and stale. It can repel the growth of harmful bacteria and aids removing excess sebum, dirt and oil. which otherwise makes your style look greasy and lank. It is not overly heavy or greasy and allows just the proper amount of conditioning without looking dirty.

Shop online at HealthyHairPlus for a complete selection of healthy products for the hair and scalp. Find Jojoba Oil Treatment, healthy shampoos, conditioners, and styling aids.

Keep up the with latest advice, hairstyles and Hair Treatment Products!

Women's Need For Beauty

By Tina Clark

Have you ever gazed at a painting by Monet and felt as if you had been instantly transported to a lovely garden in Giverny, France? Have you ever walked into a flower shop and felt wonderfully overcome by the blended fragrances of sterling roses, stargazer lilies, and English lavender? Or have you perhaps recently redecorated your master bedroom in your favorite colors and have now created your perfect sanctuary?

As women, we tend to be the caretakers of everyone around us, leaving little, if any, time for ourselves. For that reason, it's important that we circumvent the outer chaos of our hectic lives by surrounding ourselves with things that evoke calm and tranquility, if only for moments at a time. And those "things" can be as different and unique as each woman is different and unique.
We've all heard the old saying "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder." And so it is with this concept of surrounding ourselves with beauty. It's whatever elicits and captures this visceral response for you. And if you've been tightening your purse strings of late, try any of these budget-friendly, simple, but effective, "beauty" tips:

1. Buy fresh flowers from your local Farmers Market, where they're generally less expensive than the flower shop or even the grocery store. Or if an entire bouquet is beyond your current budget, one single rose stem will do the trick. Place them on your nightstand so that these fragrant blooms are the first thing you see when you wake up in the morning and the last thing you see when you retire in the evening.

2. Instead of listening to the news, play a feel-good CD as you're getting yourself ready in the morning. This may be your favorite music artist or perhaps a personal-growth audio. The key is that it moves you in some positive, uplifting way.

3. Commune with nature by taking a walk through a local park, or stop by one on your way home. Enjoy the simplicity of nature and all of her inherently calming ways. Let Mother Earth nurture you.

4. De-clutter and organize your office space or work area. You'll discover this will do wonders for reducing stress levels (not to mention create a more efficient environment).

5. Take a luxurious candlelit bubble bath before bed. Be sure to play soothing music. Then close your eyes and picture your body soaking away all of the day's anxiety and worries.

6. Reach out and offer to help someone in need. Run an errand for a neighbor who has been under the weather lately. Call a loved one who has been facing challenges and offer your support or simply a listening ear. Visit your local library and offer to be a volunteer reader.

7. Give yourself permission to indulge in a favorite treat on occasion, and do it without guilt. That tiramisu may be just what your soul has been craving.

So, whether your "beauty" is visual, auditory, sensory, or tactile, begin surrounding yourself daily with whatever that is for you. Be good to yourself and practice self-care. You'll soon begin to see your days magically transform into more positive and enjoyable experiences. After all, that's the "beauty" of it.

Tina Clark is a Certified Life Coach whose passion it is to inspire women to embrace the power of possibility as they contemplate their short- and long-term goals, to achieve a deeper sense of personal fulfillment.

The Best Shampoo For Sun Damaged Hair

By Tim Faber

Over-exposure to the sun and UV rays wreak havoc on hair follicles and protein bonds. The best shampoo for sun-damaged hair restores moisture content while helping heal and rejuvenate protein bonds that give life and body to our style.

Repeated exposure to the sun can break down protein bonds necessary for bounce and body. UV rays can promote splitting, frizziness and reduce shine and luster. Add a wind-blown effect or spray from salt water - as in a vacation to the beach - and perms, coloring, and smoothness can be stripped pretty quickly.

Restore Moisture & Repair

Consistent exposure leads to harsh effects and free-radical damage caused by oxidization. Lack of proper care leads to lost moisture and increased breaking and lack of control. Shampoos developed to maximize hydration while repairing and protecting from heat and UV damage can revive and offer protection from further oxidization.

This is the time of year we are flooded with calls on how to protect and repair. As a manufacturer, we have found shampoos and many conditioners are most effective if the right active ingredients are used in their formulations.

In particular, we recommend products with Panthenol, Emu Oil and Jojoba Oil. Emu Oil is one of the best ingredients for introducing and retaining moisture. It has transdermal properties (meaning it penetrates deep into the follicle shaft) and is a natural moisturizer. It is excellent for soothing and moisturizing the scalp as well.

Rejuvenate Shine, Body & Manageability

Panthenol is common for use to repair breaking and improve follicle strength. When used in conjunction with active proteins - rice, wheat, or silk - it helps improve the bonding structure of amino acids building stronger protein bonds. This helps protect the root and cortex from damage and aids repair.

Likewise, Jojoba Oil naturally moisturizes, acting very similar in properties to our own scalp oil that may be depleted due to environmental factors. It helps nourish and improve follicle health and aids cleansing without stripping nutrients or vital oils.

The best shampoo for sun-damaged hair helps repair, strengthen and restore lost moisture. Advanced formulations help reverse adverse effects of UV and sun exposure while improving strength for improved body and shine.

Shop online at HealthyHairPlus for our most popular Damaged Hair Shampoo.

HealthyHairPlus is a leading manufacturer of targeted solutions for healthier hair - shampoos, conditioners, and styling aids. Find the latest advice, tips and techniques for improved hairstyles, including products for Sun Damaged Hair.

Thinking of a Spray on Tan?

By Julie Chrisler

Are you sick of your pale white skin and wanting to try out a spray on tan? After all with the likes of Paris Hilton and other celebrities getting spray on tans and looking great, spray on tans are quite popular these days. Many people swear by spray on tans, and they are better for you than exposing yourself to the suns harmful rays, or the UV-rays of a tanning bed to get that golden bronzed look.

Do you remember the old tanning products from years ago that used to produce streaky orange tans? Sunless tanning products have vastly improved in recent years, and it is possible to have that glowing brown skin that you have been dreaming of by getting a spray on tan. So rest assured, the products have much improved over the years. No more orange streaky tans in this day and age.

You might be wondering just how a spray on tan works. Spray on tans use a chemical called DHA which interacts with the amino acids in the dead layer of your skin. All the chemicals in spray on tan solutions have been used in cosmetics and food products for years and should not cause an allergic reaction. If you are worried about an allergic reaction, ask the salon staff for a complete list of ingredients in the tanning solution so you can review it prior to getting your spray on tan.

There are a few other things you should know about before getting your tan. You should exfoliate your skin just before you get the tan so the tanning solution will spread evenly over your skin without streaking. Pay special attention to exfoliating your hands and knuckles so you do not wind up with brown knuckles.

When you get your spray on tan, the person giving you the tan should have you put a blocker on your hands to prevent the palms of your hands from tanning since that is not a natural place to tan. If they do not have a blocker for the spray on tan to put on your palms, you can bring some Vaseline with you and put it on the palm of your hands, in between your fingers, and on the tops of your nails to prevent the tanning from occurring in those areas for a more natural look.

Be aware that you will not be able to take a shower for 6-8 hours after you get your spray on tan so the tanning solution will set. You might feel icky and sticky and want a shower afterward, but if you take one you will create blotches and streaks in your new tan. You must wait until it sets.

If there are any areas that did get stained during your spray on tan, such as the palms of your hands, you can apply a little lemon juice on them, or if all else fails, a little bleach on a sponge to remove the stain.

Once your tan is set, after 6-8 hours you should moisturize it to keep it looking its best. Warning - do not moisturize before you get your spray on tan or it will result in a blotchy tan. Wait until 6-8 hours after you have gotten your tan to start moisturizing. Moisturizing should help your tan wear off evenly as well.

You can wear whatever you like while you are getting your spray on tan. Some people get their tan in the nude. The tanning booth should be totally private. If you do wear clothing into the tanning booth, be aware that the DHA may cause permanent stains on whatever you wear.

Your ability to tan naturally will not be affected by the spray on tan. You will be able to continue to get a tan naturally in the sun or in a tanning bed if you like with your sunless tan.

Your spray on tan should last about a week. You might only want to get a spray on tan for a special event or just to try it out to see if you like it. Going once a week to get your tan sprayed on may be cost prohibitive as a single spray on tan costs approximately 30 dollars. Many salons do have packages that you might want to look into for a group of tans at a reduced cost if you are interested in weekly tanning sessions.

Julie Chrisler writes articles on a wide variety of topics. You can find sunless tanning products and more information on her blog about self tanning http://www.bestsunless.com/.

Bikini Waxing For Beginners

By Tiffany Dunbar

Have you ever thought about getting a bikini wax? For some this subject is extremely personal while for others it is as natural as talking about which hair style to try. As anyone who has tried it knows, it can be a bit of a trial getting it done even for the most liberal of women. Not only do you have to go seek out the right professional to do it, but you can find yourself in some unusual positions known just so your beautician can reach those hard-to-get-at areas. But trust me, this is all quite normal.

However, what if there was a way to get this done without having to pay those outrageous prices and expose yourself to strangers? What if you could get the same results in the privacy and comfort of your own home? If this were the case you would find more and more women, jumping at the chance to get a bikini wax. Not only does it keep you from the embarrassing moments of spreading yourself out there, but it gives you a chance to save a lot of time and money. However, you'll need to get some professional advice before you begin.

It is important to note that performing bikini waxing is normally done by beauty professionals that have done thousands of waxes before you. So there are some techniques, hints, and tips you will want to look for before you start. Find one or two professionals who are willing to talk to you about some of those key points that you will have questions on, like getting around the more sensitive spots of your genital areas. This way you can be clear on what's involved with the waxing process.

Before getting your first bikini wax you will want to get an appointment with your doctor to discuss any health issues that you may have to determine if waxing is something you can have done. Furthermore, if this is your first time start out having a professional beauty therapist do the wax treatment so that you can experience the waxing process done to you to get an idea of what it will be like.

Then for those who are a bit more comfortable and experienced with waxing, you may want to find out more about doing-it-yourself waxing at home. This is something you should discuss with your beauty professional at the salon. There are home bikini waxing kits that you can buy, but you'll most likely want better instructions, preferably a bikini wax video showing you how waxing at home can be done. Also make sure the video features some of the top beauty professionals, who are licensed with many years of experience. The quality of waxing bikini waxing videos varies greatly, so if you don't like one make sure you can return it for a full money-back refund. Good luck!

The Use and Purpose of Hair Extensions

By Helen Cox

If you grew up in the 1980's you may remember the original introduction of hair extensions and how they were low in quality and high in cost. You may also remember understanding why they were given up and dismissed as a fad. The thing that I bet you didn't expect however is that they would come bounding back onto the beauty scene.

The popularity of hair extensions is colossal, who would have thought that something that was so easily dismissed would now be one of the most sought after hair trends? There are a number of reasons as to why this is the case. One of these reasons is due to the amount of celebrities that have been seen wearing them because let's face it we all want to look like our idols! However another important reason is due to the fact they are now made to a high quality. You now have the option of buying synthetic or human hair extensions, the latter being the highest quality that you can buy. They are that good that unless you tell people you have them in, no one will be able to tell due to the way they match your natural colour and blend so well into your natural locks. And as they look and feel like your natural locks you are able to wash and style them as though they were.

Extensions represent quite a new development when it comes to the field of cosmetology so a lot of people may not have complete knowledge about it. This isn't a problem however and by no means should it put you off considering having them applied. The reason that I say this is because with the help of the right salon and stylist you don't need to know much about them at all as your stylist will inform you of everything that you need to know. Your stylist will be able to colour match your natural locks so it all blends in and they will also be able to demonstrate the best application method for your hair. All of this is done so that you get the most you possibly can out of your extensions but to give you a bit of a head start, let me inform you a little bit about them.

They represent clusters of hair that can be attached to your natural locks. They are used as a means of adding not only length to your locks but also thickness and slices of colour and as a way of creating layers and texture and believe me you will be amazed at the difference that they can make to your overall look. These clusters are generally made up of 30 pieces of hair that are usually joined to your natural locks through aspects such as wefts or bonds. All hair extensions methods are completely safe as long as you go to a trained and experienced salon to have them applied.

If you opt for the best option, which is human hair then your extensions are said to last for an average of four months, after this time you will need to continually re-attach if you want to continue wearing them but with regular visits to your stylist your hair will be kept in the best condition possible.

For all of your Hair Extension needs look no further than Inanch, as experts in the application and removal of Hair Extensions they are your best bet when it comes to having them applied.

How to Remove Ingrown Hairs

By Kris Brawn

Ingrown hairs are those bumps caused by the tiny hairs not breaking out of your skin and continuing to grow under a layer of skin. They can be pretty tricky to remove, and can cause infection when not done correctly. Here's how to remove ingrown hairs by yourself with hopefully minimal pain.

Materials
Skin exfoliant
Rubbing alcohol
Tweezers
Warm water
Washcloth
Hydrogen peroxide or any antiseptic
Magnifying glass (optional)

Procedure

Observe the bump closely using a magnifying glass to make sure that you are indeed dealing with an ingrown hair. Try to locate the hair growing under it before doing anything else.

You may want to opt to wait for the hair to grow out in a week, as a longer hair may break out of the skin on its own as it grows longer. If you do take this option, make sure that you regularly exfoliate that skin area to encourage it to break out by making the skin in that area thinner.

If you have to remove the hair yourself, make sure that you don't bite off more than you can chew. If the redness of the skin is very violent, you may wish to seek the services of a dermatologist instead.

If the hair is shallow enough that you can see it through the skin, you may proceed.

Wash the area over and surrounding the ingrown hairs with warm water, to soften the skin and to make the skin pores bigger.

Sterilize the tweezers to prevent infection by soaking it in rubbing alcohol for several minutes.

Apply a warm compress to the affected area. Do not use a hot compress, only a warm one. The temperature may be enough to encourage the hairs to break away from the skin. Hold the compress in place for one to two minutes.

Do this step only when the area is bleeding or infected and will not release the hair. Use the sharpest edge of the tweezers to apply pressure and scratch on the skin to open it and release the hair from the skin layer.

Once the hair is released, do not pluck it out from the skin. Simply uncurl the hair and encourage it in the natural growing direction of the other hairs.

Pour hydrogen peroxide on the affected area to clean it out and prevent future ingrown hairs. Let it stay there to clean out the pores before wiping away.

Whether it's a really important activity or if you just want to broaden your horizons, you need the right guide at the right time, in all the right places. Anything and everything you need to know is at Monster Guide

Beauty is the Best Revenge

By Catherine Sheehan

Whether you're jumping back into the singles pool after a separation or stepping out on a first date after going through a divorce, putting yourself out there again takes guts. You want to be witty, charming, and gorgeous - and most of all, you want to go back in time and reclaim both the years and the effort you put in to that jerk of an ex, so you can lavish them on someone who's worth it. But before you start beating yourself up about the time you wasted on your last relationship, there's one amazing fact you should be aware of: there is a way to reclaim your youthful, vibrant, beautiful looks you thought you lost along with your partner. And you can get them back for far less than a thousand bucks. Sound too good to be true? Then you'd better keep reading.

More and more women all over the country are coming out of relationships that we thought would last forever. Instead, our relationships ended and we found ourselves in a place we didn't think we'd see again - the land of singles. We're re-entering the dating pool at 40, wishing we could feel as feminine and sexy as we did when we were 30. And even if there is a way to reclaim the looks that time has slowly been stealing away from us, we don't have an endless supply of cash to throw at beauty products. We still need money to go out and meet new people, after all.

And that's where Botox and dermal fillers come in.

Botox Cosmetic and dermal filler treatments, like Restylane, Juvederm and Evolence, deliver amazing (and natural-looking) results that smooth lines and wrinkles, and literally take years off your appearance. And that revitalization can be yours, and can be quite economical, as long as you get smart about the hidden economics of facial rejuvenation. Here are the basics you need to know:

Botox should be priced per unit, not area treated. 99% of Botox patients don't know how many units they're receiving during their treatments - so make sure you ask your doctor and make the pricing work to your advantage.

The less Botox you use, the less your treatment costs. And small, highly-targeted amounts of Botox can be a great economical alternative to more expensive surgical treatments like facelifts.

A little knowledge goes a long way in saving money with dermal fillers, too. Like Botox, the more targeted the treatment, the more cost effective it will be. So make sure you find out which type of dermal filler is right for you (each kind of filler is designed to be used on a specific part of the face), and then find a physician who carries all of the different kinds of fillers to deliver your targeted treatment.

Always make sure you're working with an expert physician who understands that the longevity of a filler is based on the layer of skin in which it is placed (again, each type of filler is designed for a specific layer). And make sure your physician is skilled and experienced enough to understand the subtleties of Botox and dermal fillers, and knows which of the two is most appropriate to treat different conditions and areas of your face. Limit your selection of physicians to those that dedicate their practice to only Cosmetic Medicine!

So if you're returning to the dating world, get ready to have some fun this time around. That last relationship made you wiser - and thanks to Botox and dermal fillers, nobody will ever know it made you older. Best of all, after your Botox and dermal filler treatments, you'll still be able to afford to go out! After all, what good are fantastic results if you can't show them off to that great looking guy at the bar...who's starting to walk your way? So go grab a killer outfit and pair of sling-backs to match your amazing, rejuvenated appearance, and know that you're armed with the most important accessory of all - self-confidence.

Vitamins For Hair and Nail Growth

By Tim Faber

While it may not seem like it, your hair and nails are extremely similar at a microscopic level.
Both are mostly composed of the same protein known as keratin. The structural differences you see between lie in the way the particles of protein are arranged. In follicles, these proteins form long, elastic strands while in fingernails, they form hard, almost flat structures.

If you find that your hair is not healthy and either keeps falling out or is growing very slowly, it is likely that your nails will not be in very good shape either. This is because they are both affected by the same nutrition.

What Causes Unhealthy Hair and Nails?

Of the many possible reasons, the most common and most likely reason is a vitamin and mineral deficiency. The human body requires certain chemical compounds that it cannot create on its own using more basic compounds. These particular compounds must be obtained through the food that we eat, and if they are not present in our food, will result in vitamin deficiencies in our bodies. These deficiencies show up in several ways including retarded follicle and keratin development.

How to Prevent Unhealthy Hair and Nail Growth

The solution to your problem is a good natural vitamin supplement. While hair vitamins are easily available, you will find that many supplements are artificial in nature and are simply synthesized in laboratories. These artificial supplements may cause unexpected side effects when consumed or may harm your body in other ways. The best thing to do is ignore artificial supplements and take only those that have been extracted from natural sources, which drastically minimizes the likelihood of triggering off any adverse side effects.

When looking for the solution to your hair and nail growth problems, you should look for hair vitamin supplements that contain the B group of vitamins, and certain elements like magnesium and zinc. The best vitamin supplements for healthy hair and nail growth are those that contain essential amino acids.

Healthy Hair Plus carries a complete selection of Hair Nail Vitamins - healthy hair shampoos, conditioners, and styling aids. Keep up the with latest advice, trends and supplements for Faster Growing Hair.

Shine on With Sleek and Sexy Hair

By Kristy Carlson

You always see them in advertisements, magazines, and on the Internet: girls with really long, straight, and sleek hair with no flyaways from the roots to the ends. The most coveted look you always dreamed of having can be yours with the right selection of products and the use of a Karmin flat iron. Read on for the best tips to a sleek and straight crowning glory that you can be proud of all year round.

Hair Shampooing and Conditioning

The choice of shampoo and conditioner will basically be based on your hair type. You may find that some shampoos tend to dry your strands or cause dandruff so make sure to use the right shampoo for you. You will have better luck with shampoos with moisturizing features especially if you want to keep frizzles down to zero. Unruly hair can really be a nuisance to your goal of achieving that sexy look you always wanted. As an advice, shampoo only every other day so that the natural oil of your hair can help tame those dry strands.

Blow-drying or Towel Drying

Once you finish washing, you are left with two choices of drying it: with a blow dryer or with a towel. Sometimes the choice may depend on your available time to dry your mane and style it. If you have all the time in the world to dry it, then you may opt to gently blot drying your hair with a towel. Natural drying allows it to rest from too much treatments or use of tools. You can leave it loose while you eat, put on makeup, or read the newspaper.

Hair Straightening 101

Once your hair is almost dry, get your tools ready. For a straight look, bring out your Karmin flat iron. Since you want all your strands to really be arrow straight, you would need to divide them into small sections to make sure you iron all your hair evenly. You can divide into four or five sections clipping all but one at a time. When ironing a section, begin at the roots and work your way going down. Do the same step to the rest of the sections. After a few minutes, you will see a beautiful you with a great straight look.

Adding Some Shine

Once you finish straightening, you would like to give it a bit of shine. A shine serum can do the trick and makes your hair look healthy. Remember to use only enough shine serum for, too much of anything is not good and shine serums are no exemption.

It's Time to Shine

You are now ready to face your day feeling really confident and beautiful with your sleek and sexy hair. It only took you a few minutes of washing your hair, drying it, straightening it with a
Karmin flat iron, and adding some shine. It will look like you just came from an expensive salon.
Remember that caring for your hair's health will result to you enjoying hair day glam every day.

Kristy is a professional hair stylist and writer for My Hair Styling Tools, a leading supplier of Karmin Flat Iron.

Are You Using Your Cuticle Clippers Correctly?

By Una Pecatti

The number one rule when it comes to cuticle clippers is to keep them as sharp as possible. It is impossible to gain good results from blunt clippers. Their job is to remove the cuticle gently without any force being applied. If their blades are sharp enough then the skin should just fall off after the blade has been closed over it. If not then they are too blunt and damage can be caused.

The Proper Procedure for Cuticle Clippers

Cuticle clippers should only be used once a cuticle knife has been used. The knife will pull the cuticle away from the nail plate, making it easier for you to cut it off with the clippers. If the cuticle was too near the nail plate then it would be difficult to close the clippers around it.

Once you have the cuticle where you need it to be, hold the clippers over the skin. Close them and then release the blade again. This should be enough to cut the cuticle off. If you find that it is still there then it is likely that your blades need sharpening.

Some suppliers offer a cuticle clipper sharpening service and it would be a good idea to look into this option. The good news is that a good quality pair of cuticle clippers will last you for a long, long time. So sending them off to be sharpened every now and again will really help you to save money in the long run. Obviously it would be a good idea to have more than one pair so that whilst one is being sent off to be sharpened, you have another paid to be working with.

Don't forget that they will also need to be cleaned regularly. All nail tools require some cleaning and cuticle clippers are no exception. You will need to wipe them with an antibacterial product straight after use and then they will need to be left in disinfectant for a set time period. Each disinfectant will be different so you should always follow the directions on the label. Keeping them clean will ensure that no infections develop and bacteria is kept to a minimum.

Overall it is very important that you use cuticle clippers correctly. Never use them to cut anything other than the cuticle unless you are using them on hangnails. Also if they are blunt then replace them if you cannot have them sharpened. You should never use clippers that are blunt as it will cause too much damage.

Top 5 Reasons to Treat Yourself to a Body Wrap

By Julia Smythe

Body Wraps are one of the most commonly asked for treatments in spas and salons all over the world. They are not only a relaxing way to spend a couple of hours- they actually offer some REAL benefits. I'm going to talk about the top five reasons that absolutely everyone should treat themselves to a body wrap.

1. Inch Loss:

This is probably the number one reason for people getting body wraps. We all feel at one time or another that we could slim down a little bit. Imagine you have an event coming up- the perfect dress lined up in your wardrobe... Just one problem, you've packed on a couple of pounds and that zip gets stuck half way up. What do you do? Buy a new dress? Smart people turn to body wraps. They are an amazing way to slim down and lose inches off your whole body! There are people out there who are disbelieving of the process, claiming that any inches lost are just water weight. This is not the case. The active ingredients in a body wrap stimulate the body to undergo an intense detox. The circulatory systems (both blood and lymphatic) are stimulated to speed up the elimination of toxins from your body. The cells are compacted through the excretion of tissue waste- and your body is measuring inches smaller!

2. Detox

As I mentioned earlier a major benefit of a body wrap is detoxing. The active ingredients in body wraps stimulate the body to eliminate toxins from the body at a much faster rate than it usually would. There are many benefits to having a really good detox. These include more energy, mental clarity, clearer skin and decreased stress levels. Not only that but it will also boost any weight loss program that you are on and help you achieve results much faster than you normally would. It is important that you do remember to drink lots of water to help flush out the toxins.

3. Firms & Tones the Skin

Body Wraps also firm and tone the skin. This is achieved through improving the elasticity of the skin. This is especially helpful if you are on a weight loss program and you are finding that the reduction in weight is actually starting to cause your skin to sag. A body wrap will help to smooth out the skin and even visibly reduce the appearance of cellulite.

4. Relaxation

This speaks for itself really- who couldn't use some time out for some R & R. Taking some time just for yourself, to get away from it all. A Body Wrap usually takes around 60 minutes. That is a whole hour just for you! You actually don't have a choice but to lay down for an hour and chill out! In today's busy society most of us could use an excuse to do just that!

5. Increased Circulation

This is an enormous benefit of body wrap treatments. Good circulation is vital to maintaining our overall good health. The blood contains nutrients and carries oxygen to our organs and muscles allowing us to function at our optimum capacity.

Body wraps provide many therapeutic benefits and are also a great way to slim down, look and feel great.

5 Tips For a Flawless Foundation

By Dale Kathryn Grove

Beautiful skin takes work and in most cases is enhanced by artfully applied foundation.
Foundations protect the skin, even out skin tone, and give the skin a more radiant appearance. Many foundations contain pigments that brighten the skin and hide imperfections. Guarantee a flawless finish by following a few simple steps.

1) Select a Foundation That is Suitable for Your Skin Type. There are cream, full-coverage, medium-coverage, creme-to-powder, and mineral powder foundations. Cream and full-coverage are suited to normal to dry skin and will help to moisturize the skin for up to 6 hours. Medium-coverage suits combination to oily skin and controls oil for at least 8 hours. Creme-to-powder foundation and mineral powder foundation are suitable for all skin types. The majority of foundations are now transfer resistant so they won't fade away midday.

2) Select a Foundation Shade That Enhances Your Skin Tone. Foundations come with several undertones; pink, yellow, olive, golden orange and warm brown. The best foundation shade, for you, will disappear on your face as you blend it into your skin. Many women can benefit from a yellow based foundation because it will minimize redness from broken capillaries, rosacea and will also minimize dark circles under the eyes. Pink based shades are generally best for fairer skin tones. Olive undertones are great for women with a Mediterranean or Middle Eastern background, golden orange shades seems to work best for Asian skins unless they are very fair and warm brown shades suit most women from African descent. Be sure to change your foundation shade as needed if your skin tone changes from season to season.

3) Prepare the skin. Cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize well to guarantee a smooth surface for your foundation. Cleansing and exfoliating with a 3-in1 Cleanser gets rid of dry surface cells that can cause foundation to clump. Moisturizing ensures that the foundation will glide smoothly over the skin. Allow your moisturizer to dry before beginning your foundation application.

4) Foundation Application. Apply liquid or creme foundations by blending a small amount on the pads of your fingertips and then patting the foundation over your face. This ensures a lighter application of color than the older method of putting dots of foundation on the face and then spreading it out. If you need more coverage in certain areas let your foundation dry for a minute or two then apply more in those areas. Some women like to use a sponge for application and this can work well especially around the eyes. I would encourage you to use disposable sponges and throw them out after each application. A used sponge is a breeding ground for bacteria. Blend your foundation well along the jaw line so there is no discernible line where your foundation ends. Finish with a dusting of finely milled, pressed mineral powder in a matching shade to set your makeup.

Apply loose, mineral powder foundation with special application brush. The bristles should be soft, natural hair that let you pick up a precise amount of powder. The shape of the brush should have shorter bristles that are flat across the top. This allows you to easily customize the level of coverage you are able to achieve. Dip your brush into the powder, tap the brush to remove any excess and then the swirl the brush in the lid of the jar to distribute the powder through the bristles. To apply, start in the center of your face and work your way out to the hairline, jaw and across the forehead. For light natural coverage, a thin application should be enough however you can repeat the application if extra coverage is required.

5) Care for Your Skin Daily. Remember, foundation needs a good complexion as a base. All the makeup in the world will not look good over bad skin because it will look like a cover-up and nothing more. At night be sure to cleanse and moisturize to maintain your skin so that you will always look your best.

Is Oil Good For Hair?

By Monica C.

People who have 'greasy' hair often blame over-active sebaceous glands for overproducing such a 'useless' compound. Oil is continually demonized in shampoo commercials, and people seem to be convinced nowadays that oily hair is the worst thing that can happen to hair. Is this true, or not? Let's examine the facts.

Why is there Oil?

We all know that oil is a natural product of the human body. No, it's not a byproduct it's actually a first-order product of specific glands in the human skin. So why do we need oil? First off, oil is important because it forms a protective barrier around the skin, nails and hair.

Without oil, the human skin would shrivel up, flake and erode horribly. The nails would also dry up and lose their natural suppleness. Oil allows the skin to glow, and to remain soft and cool even if the sun is beating down mercilessly in summer. Oil also helps block out the harmful rays of the sun.

Why Does Hair Need Oil?

If we take off from the logic stated above, then hair requires oil as much as skin and nails. Since hair is mostly dead hair cells, it would need the protection of natural oils to keep it looking lively and shiny. Imagine hair without oil: it would look like it had been blow dried for several hours without end.

Sebum is not the enemy. Sebum is your natural defense against the harsh, polluted environment. However, when sebum mixes with other undesirable elements like dirt, pollen and smoke the formula changes. Sebum can become undesirable when it becomes a medium for germs and other potentially damaging pathogens.

How to Remove Oil from Hair?

There's no way to really remove the oil from your hair. If you have very, very short hair and you find that the extra oil is making you look like a greasy grill; you simply have to wash your hair more often. By washing your hair more, you would be able to control the amount of sebum that is spreading across your hair.

Most adolescents have this exact problem, and usually, monikers like "greasy haired girl" emerge right about this time. While the monikers are often harsh and baseless, kids simply have to contend with the fact that this is simply a biological phase that would eventually pass.

Drugs for Less Oil

With all the hoopla that had emerged regarding excessive amounts of oil in the scalp, drugs have been developed to counter the production of sebum. Those who are really suffering from excessive production usually go to general practitioners to get hold of these medicines.

It should be noted that not everyone requires such drastic measures, and such measures are only put in place if the excessive oil is causing too many inter-related skin problems. Acne sufferers or those with rosacea are among those that benefit to a certain degree from anti-oil drugs.

However, for the rest of the population, better leave your sebaceous glands alone. It's very possible that the excessive production of oil is a non-permanent phase, and it too, will pass.

Coping With Dry Or Oily Skin

By Daren Joel

When you stop to think about it, there are really only two types of skin. You either have dry skin or oily skin. Both of these skin types can be very problematic but there are several things that you can do to make yourself more comfortable and your skin healthier.

Caring for Oily Skin

If you have oily skin you already know that there are several annoying side effects. The first is the fact that you are extremely prone to acne. You also tend to have a shiny face and it always looks like you are sweaty.

The first thing you have to do is avoid eating any oily or sugary foods; saturated fats will only exasperate the problem. You are also going to have to wash your face more frequently than people who have normal or dry skin. When you are shopping for skin care products you will want to stay far away from anything that is oil based. You do want to use a moisturizer but you only want to use as much as your skin can quickly absorb.

If you are struggling with acne you might want to consider spreading honey on your face. The honey helps detoxify your face and clear your clogged pores. You should allow the honey to sit on your face for about five minutes. Dabbing a dollop of toothpaste on a pimple is an excellent way to get rid of the redness quickly.

Dealing with Dry Skin

Dry skin is uncomfortable and not all that attractive. The good news is that you don't usually have to worry about acne but you do have to worry about your skin cracking and peeling. In the winter you will usually have to worry about your skin becoming so dry that it will actually start to bleed. The best way to treat your dry skin is to make sure that you use plenty of moisturizer, the minute your skin starts to feel like it is too tight for your face you should start applying moisturizer.

When you are getting ready to wash your face, try rubbing some yogurt on it first. The yogurt will help pull dirt and oil from your skins pores while also hydrating your skin. Another natural remedy that works really well especially is your Skin is cracking or peeling is oatmeal. The cooked oatmeal helps your body shed the dead Skin while also repairing the damaged skin cells.

The Art of Perfume

By Jeb Binkley

Just as the perfect outfit can stay in a person's memory, so will the fragrance that envelops them. Some people have stronger body odors than others, and not all natural scents are unpleasant. However, wearing the right perfume will ensure that the fragrance you are emitting is a appealing one. Think of perfume as an accessory to your outfit. Too much fragrance will make your ensemble overdone and clashing to those around you. You want just a subtle hint of fragrance that lingers in the air and leaves them wanting more.

Just as perfume can complete your outfit, it can also clue others in as to your personality and even your mood. Oriental spicy fragrances tend to appeal to sophisticated and confident women.
This is very popular with women who know what they want and working hard to get it. If you are more of a free-spirit, sensual and nurturing, then a woody fragrance might be more suitable for you. Romantics tend to favor floral scents. Citrus fragrances are often geared toward the vivacious, exuberant, and mischievous woman.

While one of these categories may appeal to you more than the others, you can always mix it up depending on your mood. For example, a spicy, exotic fragrance might be more appropriate for a sexy, yet classy night out on the town. A light, floral scent would be even more pleasing during a bright spring day. Maybe save a citrusy scent for those times when you're feeling particularly frisky and feisty.

Believe it or not, but the aroma that you wear can actually enhance or detract from your mood.
We are very sensory-oriented individuals and a simple smell can trigger all kinds of emotions within us. For example, some fragrances (like the smell of a fresh bread baking or a roast in the oven) can automatically make you feel warm and comforted because your subconscious mind associates them with good memories. But some people dislike the strong smell of roses, because perhaps it reminds them of a funeral in their past and evokes sad memories. Think of the "good smells" in your life and choose a perfume that leaves you feeling happy and loved.

Some people do not realize that different times of the year can also affect the fragrance of your perfume. During the summer months, when humidity is at an all-time high, our skin produces more oil and scents can last much longer. Popular summery fragrances are floral and fruity scent. Light floral fragrances are also fun for spring. Autumn is good time to try out woody, earthy tones with a little bit of fruit mixed in. During the winter, the coldness keeps perfume from evaporating and makes the fragrance linger. Take care to go easy on heavy, spicy fragrances during this time, as they can easily become overwhelming.

A few other simple tips are to avoid rich, heavy perfumes when you are going to be eating a meal. You don't want to overpower the wonderful aroma of the food that you will be eating (either for yourself or those around you)! Any time you will be in a large crowd of people, opt for something light and neutral. Too many scents in one room can be quite jarring to the senses.
Wearing perfume is an art. Let the fragrance work its magic and you can sit back and take credit as the artist who brought it all together.

Should You Wash Your Hair Everyday Or Every Other Day?

By Kim Cooper

When it comes to taking care of our hair, we want to do the very best we can to help it to continue growing long and strong. Washing hair too often is a question that comes up often in terms of hair care. You will come across conflicting information but for the most part, you may want to consider how often you wash your hair.

Our scalps have a natural oil that it secretes and washing hair on a daily basis can strip our scalps of this oil. This can lead to dry scalp which in turn can lead to itching and flaking. Not only that, but you may also cause your hair to dry out more than normal.

One way to test out whether or not you can get away with washing your hair every other day is by not washing your hair for one day and seeing if you suffer from itchy scalp. If you are fine after one day without washing, then go for two days.

If you are fine after two days, you are more than likely capable of washing your hair every other day or every two days. This means you can prevent major scalp dryness and hair dryness. When you do wash your hair try to use a good quality shampoo to help prevent any further dryness.

It is a good idea to invest in a good conditioner as well. When you do wash your hair, you want to keep as much moisture as possible in your hair and scalp. The cheaper brands tend to strip the hair more so than higher priced brands.

You can grow your hair longer and stronger every day. Get your free "grow my hair long" tips by visiting http://www.hairgrowfastertips.com/.
