Coping With Dry Or Oily Skin
By Daren JoelWhen you stop to think about it, there are really only two types of skin. You either have dry skin or oily skin. Both of these skin types can be very problematic but there are several things that you can do to make yourself more comfortable and your skin healthier.
Caring for Oily Skin
If you have oily skin you already know that there are several annoying side effects. The first is the fact that you are extremely prone to acne. You also tend to have a shiny face and it always looks like you are sweaty.
The first thing you have to do is avoid eating any oily or sugary foods; saturated fats will only exasperate the problem. You are also going to have to wash your face more frequently than people who have normal or dry skin. When you are shopping for skin care products you will want to stay far away from anything that is oil based. You do want to use a moisturizer but you only want to use as much as your skin can quickly absorb.
If you are struggling with acne you might want to consider spreading honey on your face. The honey helps detoxify your face and clear your clogged pores. You should allow the honey to sit on your face for about five minutes. Dabbing a dollop of toothpaste on a pimple is an excellent way to get rid of the redness quickly.
Dealing with Dry Skin
Dry skin is uncomfortable and not all that attractive. The good news is that you don't usually have to worry about acne but you do have to worry about your skin cracking and peeling. In the winter you will usually have to worry about your skin becoming so dry that it will actually start to bleed. The best way to treat your dry skin is to make sure that you use plenty of moisturizer, the minute your skin starts to feel like it is too tight for your face you should start applying moisturizer.
When you are getting ready to wash your face, try rubbing some yogurt on it first. The yogurt will help pull dirt and oil from your skins pores while also hydrating your skin. Another natural remedy that works really well especially is your Skin is cracking or peeling is oatmeal. The cooked oatmeal helps your body shed the dead Skin while also repairing the damaged skin cells.
