Information Regarding Hairbrushes and Their Types

By Theodor Cartman

Even with a shaky world economy, people continue to spend millions of dollars on health and beauty products. While facial care is a top priority, nowhere else do people take time to groom themselves and maintain than their hair.

Many believe that it is indeed the hair style that makes or breaks one's looks and their overall appearance. Both men and women spend billions of dollars each year on hair care. This includes frequent visits to the stylists and salons. This practice is seen the world over and this is one thing that the entire mankind has when it comes to beauty. Today, women are not the only ones that value their hair styles; men too have joined in the fray and visit stylists, barber shops and salons almost as much as women.

One tool in hair care is the brush and ensuring that you have the right brush is key to maintaining great looks. The right hair brush is also ideal for your hair's overall health. Many people try hard to accomplish the ideal style neglect the fact that it is a combination of the stylists's skills, the hair style and texture and the right brush that produces the final look. To avoid dismal results in hair it is important to find the right stylist who understands the type of hair that you have and use the right brush.

There are different types of brushes and these are ideal for different textures of hair. Short and curly hair needs and responds well to round brushes. This kind of brush keeps the curls tight. People with longer hair, require larger round brushes. A good stylist should have no problem knowing this.

The majority of people have long to medium hair. This makes the paddle brush the most ideal for this type of hair since it smoothens the hair while combing it at the same. This brush is not especially well-suited to layered hair although it does come across as one of the best brushes available in the market. It does more than combing and extends to the scalp where it does light to gentle massaging of the scalp. This serves to open the airways for maximum air circulation which not only keeps the hair healthy but also gives one's head a "fresh" feel. This is all caused by blood flowing to the hair follicles. Tangled hair is the exact opposite of this and has poor circulation sometimes even causing headaches.

Having the right brush for your hair is paramount. Many people are not even conscious of the type of hair that they have. This lack of knowledge causes many to use the wrong type of brush when caring for their hair thereby damaging otherwise good hair. Having the right brush is key to maintaining one's hair. This can destroy the good quality because air and blood circulation throughout the hair follicles is impended. It is therefore sound wisdom to invest in a good brush.

Styling Gel For Mens' Hairstyles

By Tim Faber

Finding a styling gel for mens' hairstyles can be difficult. Often resorting to using hair products available for women, men have had little choice (and selection) for short hairstyles that offer "just enough" hold. Many products are either formulated to give extreme hold for longer styles or have product build-up or residue that lead to flakes and scalp irritation.

As a hair products manufacturer, we are often asked for products specifically developed for men. While the differences in men's and women's hair is negligible, many products are targeted for women - developed to be used in conjunction with other styling aids or as a compliment to shampoo and conditioner. A styling gel for mens hairstyles, we have found, is best formulated to offer medium hold for shorter hair without weighing down preferred style of overwhelming with perfume-like fragrances and aroma.

Styling Gel for Mens Hairstyles

The best styling gels use a combination of holding agents and botanical ingredients to improve follicle and scalp health while giving hold to hair that may be dry, thin, or that is overrun with "cowlicks" (as mine is). Botanical active ingredients such as Sage and Lemongrass help keep follicles clean reducing residue and build-up often found with many styling aids. Balm Mint and Yarrow extract improve strength and health while advanced carbomer and glycol provide holding power for light, yet effective strength and styling hold - whether conservative or on the edge.

Interestingly, mens hairstyles are a bit more challenging than you would expect. Typically, longer hair is more easily styled and provides increased flexibility when considering haircuts.
Short hair accentuates problematic hair - thin, thinning, and growth direction. Therefore, a little bit of styling gel can work wonders on hard to control styles - and a medium-hold gel with a pleasant, neutral fragrance is preferred for men.

If you're looking for a styling gel for mens hairstyles consider a medium-hold formulation with botanical ingredients for a balance of control and styling ease, manageability over problematic hair, and for a neutral, non-flowery aroma.

Tips to Do Manicure and Pedicure at Home

By Amit Shukla

You might have to spend days to get an appointment form a beauty therapist, to get your manicure and pedicure done. Or you might even have to spend hours sitting in a salon to get these done for you.

Here a very easy and effective way in which you can do both manicure and pedicure at home all by yourself.

Steps to do Manicure at Home

Take a cotton ball and soak it with some nail polish remover. Then rub it on your nails to get all your old polishes removed.

Now wash your hands with a mild soap

Now cut or shape your nails according to your wish.

Soak your finger tips in warm soapy water. The soap should be the one with moisturizer. This will soften the cuticles and loosens the dirt below your finger nails. Dry out your hands after a few minutes.

Then remove the dirt from your nails. See that your nails are neat and clean and looks fresh.

Push the cuticles back with a stick. You can also cut the cuticles, but by doing so you may invite infections too. So be cautious.

Now moisturize gently your hands and cuticles. Do this using a good lotion and take your time to do so. This step is very relaxing.

Try to be very careful while applying nail polish. Try to use even strokes and take don't be in a hurry. After the first coat dries apply the next coat for more shine. To add the extra glint, a third coat will finish the job. Wait for the nail polish to dry after each coat you put.

Do not touch any thing before your nails get completely dried.

You are complete with your manicure now.

Steps to do Pedicure at Home

Doing pedicure at home is also very easy. All you have to do is only follow these simple steps.
Dip the feet in warm water, adding up a few drops of dettol or some other disinfectant and a pinch of hydrogen peroxide.

Scrub your toe nails with a stiff scrubber or a brush. You can also use a pumice stone to rub out the hard dead skin or your heals. Don't cut them off.

Massage your feet with a good foot cream that also has cooling effects. do not be in a hurry while massaging.

Then apply cuticle cream on the cuticles.

Move back the cuticles gently with a stick dipped in cuticle remover. But don't cut them off.
Cut your nails in a straight line and then smooth the edges with a nail file.

Place cotton wool pads in between your nails. Now put a light colored nail polish. You can apply two coats but don't forget to apply the second coat after the first one dries up.

These were some very simple tips which will help you to do manicure and pedicure at home without any difficulty.

The only difference of a Day Spa from other spas is that they work on a daily basis. People usually go there to avail and complete a service in 1 session.

In contrast to this statement, destination spas offer similar services but they are done in a hotel or in hotel like settings where people stay for one or more days. Makeup Removal

By Eddie Paoletti

Removing make-up from clothing, furniture, and carpet can be hard in some cases. There are a few ways in order to remove the make-up from these locations. First off, there are two types of make-up, oily and non-oily. Non-oily make-up consists of eye shadow, blushes, and also powdered make-up. Oily make-up consists of lipstick, mascara, and also liquid make-up. Each of these types requires a different type of removal.

The first step of the make-up removal is to have these ingredients on hand while trying to remove the make-up stains:
1. Rubbing Alcohol
2. Chlorine Bleach
3. Clean white cloth
4. Household ammonia
5. Hydrogen Peroxide

It is best to remove these types of stains as quickly as possible. The newer the stains, the more easy it is to remove. One good thing about make-up stains is that it is applied before going out so you will notice the stain before you go out in public.

The first type of make-up we will talk about is lipstick. Lipstick can be removed by rubbing alcohol and household ammonia. First, blot the stain with a dab of water to remove as much lipstick as you can. Next, treat with rubbing alcohol or household ammonia. After applying the rubbing alcohol or household ammonia, rinse and wash the fabric according to the directions on the clothing item.

Next we will give directions on how to remove mascara. Because mascara is oily, it is best to buy an oil solvent from a dry cleaning business. This is the best way to get rid of mascara stains, so it is the most beneficial.

Liquid stains are also hard to remove. It is easiest to use Dawn because it cuts up the stain. The same method to clean mascara is similar to clean liquid stains. Blot or dab off any extra stain so it will remove faster. Next, buy an oil solvent from a dry cleaning business and use as directed.
Repeat the steps until the stain is completely removed.

There are many different ways to remove stains from clothing, furniture, and carpets. Removing stains from clothing is the same as removing stains from furniture and carpets. Make sure to follow the directions and read the steps carefully in order to remove the stains. After following the steps, the stain should be removed and you will no longer need to worry about going out in public with a stain!

Conditioner For Shiny Long and Short Hairstyles

By Tim Faber

As a hair products manufacturer, one of the greatest complaints and concerns from women is they have lost the shiny sheen to their long and short hairstyles following treatments. Perms, coloring, and chemical treatments can strip hair of nutrients and proteins leaving hair dull and drab. Luster and shine can be substantially diminished especially if hair has been damaged by heat or chemical treatments.

Adding Shine to Long and Short Hairstyles

To add shine we recommend using a conditioner that infuses proteins and amino acids. Amino acids and proteins are the building blocks of the follicle's molecular structure. Loss of moisture, chemicals and excessive heat can break these bonds leading to loss of shine and strength.

Wheat, corn or rice proteins are often used in conditioners - primarily leave-in and spray-on conditioners - to restore the bonding structure strengthening the hair while smooth and increasing brilliance. Wheat, rice and corn proteins have differing molecular weights allowing them to provide several benefits. Lighter weight amino acids are able to penetrate the follicle shaft to the cortex and root making to follicle stronger.

Heavier weight amino acids coat the follicle shaft increasing elasticity and making the hair more shiny and reflective. A side benefit is resulting proteins also help seal in moisture and hydration making hair fuller and with increased volume. This is particularly important for both long and short hairstyles - especially if they have been chemically treated or colored.

Spray Shine Conditioners

Spray shine conditioners restore shiny hair to its natural luster. They can provide instant and brilliant shine to make dry or dull hair shiny again. With amino acids, proteins and ingredients like Palmitate, Olive Fruit Extract, Jojoba Oil and Safflower Seed Oil, shine conditioners smooth frizzy or fried ends and help repair and heal damage. As a note, look for alcohol-free formulas.
Alcohol provides instant rejuvenation but prolonged use dries out follicles and diminishes shine.

To add life to the shine, we also recommend a shine conditioner that provides or includes a sunscreen. Protective sunscreens reduce and protect from sun damage. Like alcohol and environmental damage, sun damage accelerates free-radical damage from oxidization and depletes nutrients and shine.

To get shiny hair for your long and short hairstyles, look for a spray shine conditioner with amino acids, botanical extracts and sunscreen for maximum shine and protection. Use caution when styling to prevent heat damage and make sure you keep your hair moisturized with a good shampoo and conditioner.

Shop online at HealthyHairPlus for the best spray shine conditioner for long and short hairstyles.

Leave-In Conditioner to Add Strength and Detangle

By Tim Faber

To get rid of tangles, strengthen your hair, and to protect from environmental and heat damage, consider an all-in-one spray-on conditioner. Many spray-on or leave-in conditioners use active ingredients to improve tinsel strength and give your hair protection from damage caused by flat irons, curling irons or blow dryers.

Many of us are familiar with styling aids that help add body, texture or control. Often used after shampoos or conditioners, styling aids can help smooth, straighten or add curl control to wavy hair. But, there are leave-in conditioners available that help detangle while adding strength to protect from breaking and tearing.

A leave-in conditioner that adds strength and detangles often uses active ingredients such as Aloe Vera leaf juice and Camellia Leaf Extract and Silk amino acids for shine and increased strength of follicle molecular bonds. Amino acids form proteins that are the building blocks of the follicle shaft, root, and cortex. Aloe and Camellia are well known for their soothing effects on the scalp and their ability to improve elasticity and smoothness.

Horsetail extract adds strength and shine and other compounds such as Green Tea Extract offer repair and protection from environmental, heat and free-radical damage. Often used after shampooing and before styling, leave-in conditioners help protect and lock-in moisture and provide a protective barrier that guards against heat damage common when styling with flat irons. Additionally, Ascorbic acid and Hydrolyzed Silk proteins make hair stronger and help smooth tangles to reduce breaking.

Increasing flexibility of the follicle shaft decreases damage during styling and many products are light weight so they have little impact on volume and body. Not a bad combination?...strength, shine and protection.

If you have weak or brittle hair and are looking for a solution for tangles and strength, leave-in conditioners formulated as detanglers and tensel strengtheners may be an excellent compliment to your hair care regimen.

Shop online at HealthyHairPlus for the best leave-in strengthening conditioner for improved styling, added strength, and healthy shine.

HealthyHairPlus carries a complete line of top-name hair products - healthy hair shampoos, conditioners, and styling aids for the healthiest, most beautiful hair possible.

Is Professional Make-up Advice Worth It?

By Rosalie Poels

It can be hard to know where to go to get good make-up advice. Do you spend hours staring blankly at the aisles in the chemist, or do you brave the potential intimidation of the department store make-up counters? How often have you spent hours searching for that new perfect lipstick, futilely testing on the back of your so it ends up resembling a bit of impressionist artwork until yes, that's it, you finally find the perfect lipstick! A mix of excitement and relief wash over you. That is until you get home and realise that you already have a drawer full of exactly the same shade that you never wear. Face it; we've all been there!

So what is the best way to get a new make-up look that you know you will wear and feel good in? Personally, until you are confident about what you are looking for I would recommend that you seek make-up advice from a professional beauty expert. A good make-up consultant should be able to advise you on how to get the best make-up looks to suit you. That means to work not just with your skin-tone, hair and eye colour, but also with your personal style and personality. We all have different approaches to clothes and make-up. There are some who always go for a more natural, relaxed look or those that always follow the latest fashions and want everyone to notice them. Or you may be more of a romantic and like pretty detail on everything, alternatively you may be more classic in your style and less reluctant to change what your comfortable with.

Regardless, the way you approach your wardrobe will have an impact on the way you approach make-up. A good make-up consultant should make you feel relaxed and comfortable before being able to advise you on new and different make-up looks and techniques that will really work for you.

A new make-up look can be as effective at updating your look as an expensive shopping trip for lots of new clothes. New shades come and go, as do products and application techniques. The trick is to know how to make it work for you. Bronze smoky looking eye shadows may be the look of the season but it will only make you look great if it suits your colouring and personal style. A trip to a make-up expert needn't cost you much, if anything (although I believe you do tend to get what you pay for, in fact it can be better paying for advice rather than having a 'free' consultation with a 'view to purchase a minimum of £xx amount'). A new eye shadow or pencil can really make the difference. And of course, if you are desperate to find the 'perfect lipstick' you will probably end up saving yourself a fortune in the long run by actually buying one that you will wear!

Learning About Hair Salon Products

By Nick M Grant

Salon clientele are always very tempted by salon hair products. After that client has been duly impressed by the use of a specific hair product by a stylist or professional - and it doesn't matter if that if it's gloss, mousse, dye or shampoo - that client will be itching to get that product so that they can reproduce the same hairstyle again and again and again, even if it is pricey. Although anyone can choose to buy the products from a regular store, most choose to buy them from salons. Why? Well, professionals are there that can dispense any advice that might be needed-how to put in the hair, what specifically to use, etc. That is one of the pluses that salon products have over other, generic products that one would find in a retail store.

The best way to learn about the properties of salon hair products is to simply use them yourself. Not only do you gain a lot of information, but explaining and clarifying to someone else when they don't understand is just so much easier to do, because you actually went through it. And, if you don't feel like you're truly qualified to give advice, explain to a stylist or a professional, and they can help you work through it, based on your explanations. Normally, this is something that they will do while they are working on your hair anyway. Since it is easier to watch how things are applied instead of just listening to directions about how to do so, have the stylist help you is a good thing. This way, everything is made clear and you totally understand how proper hair care should work.

There is a pretty wide range that salon hair products can come in and they are able to aid clients whose hair has been damaged using chemical substances-whether that means permed, straightened or dyed. If the stylist thinks it is necessary, they might suggest products to hydrate, strengthen and nourish the hair, all at the same time. Ethnic hair products, and styling products, too are some things that they would have knowledge of. Should you want to avoid chemical based products because you want to save the environment, the stylists might also know about natural salon hair products, and after having had a look at your hair to create a profile, they would definitely have suggestions.

Truthfully, salon hair products are the same as what is found in retail stores. The only big difference is who is going to sell it to you and how-along with that is the possibility of any experience that they might have had with the product you want, so you will have a possible side benefit of the experience. Plus, keeping current with the styles is easier to do in a salon that it is standing in the middle of a supermarket aisle. You'll learn more from the stylist in the salon, particularly about new products, their reliability and more.

Puffy Eyes - Instant Relief Treatments & Ways to Prevent Eye Puffiness

By Kacy Carr

Do you find your eyes puff up regular or show deep coiled black circles often? Do the bags under your eyes sag heavily? If you are embarrassed over your puffy eyes then you are not to worry because there are treatments to reduce eye puffiness. If we can get to the bottom of why puffy eyes have occurred then there is every possibility of curing the problem.

We associate eye puffiness to lack of sleep. Should this not be the case in your case after catching up with sleepy eye, then puffiness may be caused by other of which will need to be determined by your doctor. Mild or severe puffiness can happen through numerous factors. Most primary are allergies and skin disorders. Eyes can puff up and swell if fluid settles round them or through climate change and hormone levels. This condition is also marked down as heredity. Swollen eyes are not normally seen as a symptom of seriousness. Nevertheless not to be ignored either. How to reduce and treat puffy eyes is a question we answer with good news by clarifying there are ways to treat and prevent puffiness.

You need to elevate the head at every possibly moment when resting or sleeping. Propping the head up will control extra fluids from filling around the eyes. For instant relief apply a cold water compress to the skin just under the eye to take swelling down. Cucumber potato or apple slices placed over the eyes will refresh, reduce and soothe tired eyes. Chilled gel masks or used moist tea bags do the same. Cotton wool pads soaked in cold water or milk and applied for 10 to 15 minutes works wonders.

Skin that envelops the eye is sensitive so take care when treating them and with what you treat the eyes with. Does haemorrhoid cream reduce puffiness? As we speak we have no true proof that it does and with no clinical evidence to prove otherwise you should avoid using haemorrhoid cream unless suggested by your GP. The cream is known to cause irritation and dryness leading to inflammation. If you have tried different solutions to help reduce puffiness and no sign of any swelling going down see your doctor. Your GP can from examination eliminate other possible causes like kidney or thyroid issues. Puffiness can also derive as a side effect (allergic reaction.)
If you think you look a sight for sore eyes read on.

If the body begins to dehydrate it starts to retain water which can lead to puffy eyes. Drink plenty of water, not only is this good for controlling puffiness it is good for your overall health in general.

Sleep on your back if possible because this helps circulation. Sleeping on your tummy has the reverse affect allowing fluid to flood the eyes. Leaving make-up on overnight is unhealthy and can cause irritation. Alcohol and salty foods may increase fluid retention which ultimately can lead to puffy eyes.

It is known that some women retain water prior to their period, and certain women this shows around the eyelids. Maintain a good hormonal balance to help prevent this from happening. Add fruit and vegetables to your daily menu.

As with the ageing process skin loses elasticity and this can give cause for the eyes to swell. It is imperative to use a quality sunscreen block when out in the midday sun to protect the eyes from damaging sun ray's. Keep your diet rich in antioxidants and if this is not possible take supplements.

Moisturize the skin round the eyes to stop the skin drying up.

Dull corneas are a sign of severe vitamin A deficiency. Vitamin A is a crucial element of importance for night vision. A well balanced daily diet of fresh fruit vegetables and certain nuts is helpful.

One reason for eye strain is poor lighting while reading or sewing. Doing these things under dim lighting causes the eyes to weary and this can be avoided by using proper lighting. By making a few minor adjustments to how you do things will help you avoid eye strain. Change the angle at which you hold a paper or book while reading. Closeness can strain the eyes. Be careful of long hours sitting in front of the television or computer, have a break. If you have an eye concern then consult an optician.

There is no special way to completely relax the eyes and the surrounding muscles other than to just close them.

Treat dark circles with a mixture of pulpy tomato (quarter) turmeric powder, lemon juice and gram flour. Apply over darkened skin and rinse off once dried.

Look after your eyes and they will look after you so you may see things more clearly

Ways to Get Rid of Under Eye Circles - Look Better Now

By Laura Crusie

There are several ways to get rid of under eye circles that are very fast, inexpensive and effective. If you have dark bags under your eyes you know that you feel self conscious about them. Women have the luxury of trying to cover them up with make up, but that's a bit of a challenge for men. Using a few natural ingredients can help diminish the appearance of dark circles regardless of your gender.

One of the best ways to get rid of under eye circles is to use mint leaves. Mint has a lot of healing properties and can really help with the swelling and the darkening that occurs with under eye bags. You want to purchase fresh mint leaves and then crush them into a paste. Apply this paste directly to the area under your eyes and then relax for 15 - 20 minutes. Once time is up, gently cleanse the area. You can use this approach twice a day. Many people find it most convenient to do it when they first wake up and then again right before they go to sleep.

Another method that many people with under eye circles have used and had success with is almond oil. This is one of the natural ways to get rid of under eye circles that involves massage.
Take a small amount of almond oil on your fingertips and then massage it into the area where you have circles. Be gentle with how you massage, but also be thorough. You'll want to do this once a day for about a month. It's a good idea to do this right before you go to sleep each night.
You do want to ensure that you wash all the oil off when you are done with each treatment. In a pinch you can substitute olive oil if you can't find almond oil.

Dark circles under the eyes are a problem that plagues millions of people. Teen Beauty Tips

By Ricardo Lubis

As a teenager, especially a girl, it is the time when you start recognizing makeup and how to wear it to make you look more beautiful. However, in the age of teenagers means that you still have sensitive skin especially for your face so that you have to be careful in choosing the right and suitable makeup products to use. You have to think about the ingredients concerning the chemical contents; make sure they will not give bad impacts to your young skin.

If you are in around the sixth grade, you should watch the makeup level that you wear, do not make it look too heavy. You may use mascara, lip gloss, or maybe a little bit of eye shadow touch in natural look and style. Do not apply them too much because it will not look good. Or better look you should make the makeup match with your clothes. In choosing the clothes itself you must also pay attention to your body shape and do not let it be overrated. If you are a little bit older, you can try to have different hairstyle in some days of the week, maybe by having it curled or anything rather than just having your natural hair style. In seventh grade it is already safe to use foundation to help you cover up and conceal the acne.

In the age of seventh grade you may also use mascara, but once again you should not use it too much. You can also wear some accessories to complete your cool outfit. In choosing the right stuffs to wear, you should try on yourself; make sure they fit you. In the eight grades it is the time for you to impress some guys so it can be the right time for you to try more mature styles like wearing blazers and having your own hair style. Try it now and be cool teen by impressing your friends at school.

Plastic Surgeon Vs Personal Trainer?

By A Aaronson

Working with a personal trainer can seem like a long climb up a steep mountainside. It takes discipline, commitment and perseverance. That's why some folks are foregoing the coach for the much easier solution of plastic surgery. But, is picking plastic surgery over the personal trainer just the easy way out?

Let's See Your Personal Trainer Do THAT! Sure, plastic surgery is easier. But, there are some things it simply does better, like getting rid of abdominal fat. Abdominal fat is the trickiest part of the body to tackle, and many hard working exercisers find that no matter how they train, that little layer of chub just won't go away.

People who have just lost a large amount of weight feel the same way. After you lose a lot of weight, you are left with pockets of tissue and skin that just won't train away. This tissue is not fat, and the traditional dieting and exercise routine won't be effective against it.

There are also cosmetic problems that no amount of training can fix, like uneven or oddly shaped breasts. This is one of the main reasons many women are now getting breast work done.

Think About the Dollars Personal trainers are losing some of us to surgeons because of the costs. They charge $70 per hour, at the very least! They offer deals with long term programs, but you are still looking at paying $15,000 for six weeks. Meanwhile, the price of surgery is steadily going down. Procedures are getting easier to do, and there are lots of clinics offering deals to attract new clients.

You'll also find that plastic surgery is a one shot deal, whereas gym fees are an ongoing expense. For example, liposuction starts at $15,000. That's a pretty hefty price tag. But, you don't have to go back for more. This means you save in the long-term.

Take Off the Weight Safely

Finally, there is the danger of getting a personal trainer who doesn't care if you succeed or not. There are some horror stories drifting around out there about negligent trainers who work you and work you... you end up sore for days, see no improvement, and watch the dollars slipping out of your wallet.

Of course, there are lots of good trainers out there. But, in the past many people were afraid to try plastic surgery because of fears over safety. Nowadays, plastic surgery is safer than ever.
Common procedures have been practiced for decades now, so a qualified plastic surgeon knows all about it.

Plastic Surgery Vs. Personal Trainers - It's Up To You

Okay, let's be honest... working with a personal trainer requires commitment and discipline. They will show you what to do, but at the end it's all up to you to work off the weight and get your body into shape. Plastic surgery is the easy, no-headache way to achieve your body shaping goals. Plastic surgery and personal trainers both have their benefits, and you should choose what's right for you.

Even after losing a lot of weight through dieting and exercise, it may be difficult to get rid of some pockets of tissue and skin. San Francisco tummy tuck surgeon can take care of such areas. Visit http://www.drkim.com/ for more information.

How to Eliminate Dark Eye Circles & Puffy Eyes

By Michael-Jon Lazar

Have you ever woke up in the morning and looked in the mirror and some pretty noticeable dark eye circles were peering back at you? Or, the sleep has not quite left your face yet and those darn puffy eyes stare back at you, mocking your morning routine. And you full know that you will have to now spend another twenty minutes or longer applying your makeup and covering up the dark eye circles and puffy eyes! Nobody wants to endure this every single morning. But there is good news on the horizon - there are ways that you can easily rid yourself of these common morning dilemmas simply by following a few easy steps that can help to increase the drainage and the circulation around your eyes; the key culprit of dark eye circles and puffy eyes.

Proper Skin Care is the Key in Eliminating Puffy Eyes, Dark Eye Circles

First you must realize that the better that you take care of your skin, the more robust, and supple it will be. The skin around the eyes is some of the thinnest skin on your body. Over time the drainage of this area can become cluttered due to broken capillaries and blood surrounding the area. Your first step should be to start using an exfoliating face wash that does not have alcohol in it. Your second step should be to moisturize your skin after washing it and before applying any makeup. Finally, make sure that you apply a quality sunscreen that will protect that thin skin from damage from the sun's harmful rays.

Spa Visits can Help

A monthly or weekly spa trip can help to resuscitate the skin around your eyes, and will help to minimize the appearances of crow's feet, dark eye circles, puffy eyes and bags under the eyes.
But, these can really add up in the checkbook, especially when you consider that a standard facial at a day spa costs around eight dollars. So if you can afford weekly or monthly spa visits, more power to you. Otherwise you may want to consider using an eye cream each night before you go to sleep.

The Best Eye Creams Will Do you Right

The best eye creams offer an affordability that outweighs costly spa visits and is equally if not more effective than them. The best eye creams utilize collagen-boosting ingredients to promote the growth of the connective tissues around the eyes and to increase the circulation and the drainage. They also deliver their powerful ingredients using penetrating moisturizers. And, the best eye creams show results typically within the first month of usage. The best part is that a one month supply of a best eye creams currently on the market will cost you about the same as one visit to the spa, and sometimes even less.

For more information on how Eyevive eye cream can help restore your skin and minimize the appearances of dark eye circles and crow's feet, please visit them online at: http://www.eyevive.com/

The Best Conditioner For Breaking, Damaged Or Weak Hair

By Tim Faber

Many of us suffer from damaged hair - breaking, split-ends, and hard to manage hair that just seems to fight our requests for style and body. The best conditioner for breaking or damaged hair rebuilds proteins adding enhanced strength while improving moisture and shine - reducing snapping and split-ends and adding volume and body.

Damaged hair can come from many sources. More often than not, heat damage caused by styling tools (flat irons, curlers and dryers) depletes hair of moisture and breaks down protein bonds that allow your hair to hold its style and prevents splitting. Chemical treatments, coloring, perms and relaxers also restructure molecular connections built by amino acids leaving hair weak and susceptible to lost hydration, brittleness and color fade.

The best conditioner for breaking hair targets two primary functions and benefits: One, enhancing tensile strength of the follicle shaft, and two, improving moisture content and shine.

Though many conditioners can address one or the other, those that are formulated specifically to repair and heal damage are best for improved strength. Active ingredients that we have seen most successful contain natural, topically applied proteins. Soy, wheat, corn and rice are the most effective. Each of these in a hydrolyzed form offer multiple benefits due to their molecular size and weight.

Rice protein for instance has a low molecular weight and is able to penetrate the follicle shaft penetrating the cuticle and root. Rice protein strengthens the follicle bonds and has been shown to substantially increase tensile strength - the point at which a hair breaks or snaps.

Corn protein on the other hand has a larger (or greater molecular weight) and bonds readily to the outside of the shaft increasing making hair more smooth and shiny. Other ingredients such as Panthenol, Soy or Aloe plump the hair shaft, add moisture and increase elasticity - allow for improved styling without damage. Combined with UVA /UVB protection, you gain added benefits of repair and protection.

Many effective conditioners also include a complex of amino acids. Betaine, Sorbitol, Glycine, Arginine, and Lysine are all formulated and researched to provide enhanced amino acids delivery to the shaft and bulb. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and further increase shine and strength.

If you're one of millions who are frustrated with weak, breaking hair, look for hair products and conditioners specifically developed to reduce breaking, improve resilience and strength, and shine and body.

Dangerous Beauty Products - What to Avoid

By Cynthia Timm

Harmful synthetic chemicals abound in our personal care products. They can cause a multitude of health problems, ranging from asthma and skin irritation to cancer. There are some beauty products that just plain aren't worth the risk associated with using them, due to their incredibly toxic and dangerous ingredients.

My recommendations on products to avoid:

1. Perfume (synthetic): Contain phthalates, which can disrupt hormones, increase the risk of certain cancers, cause infertility and allergic skin reactions. Also contain parabens (possible carcinogen, hormone disruption) and dioxins (carcinogens). The natural option is to use certain essential oils for perfume.

2. Skin Lighteners: Contain hydroquinone, a known carcinogen.

3. Hair Straighteners & Relaxers: Contain placenta (high in hormones, alters sexual development in young girls).

4. Hair Coloring: Some contain lead and most contain p-phenylenediamine, a probable carcinogen. They also contain many chemicals that are skin and eye irritants.

5. Nail Polish & Polish Removers: Some manufacturers have removed a few of the most toxic chemicals from their formulas, but many still include formaldehyde (carcinogen) and phthalates (carcinogen, endocrine disruptor, linked to asthma). Definitely never apply nail polish to children.

6. Anti-Bacterial Soaps & Anti-Bacterial Products: Contain Triclosan (hormone disruptor, impairs immune function, create "super germs", linked to birth defects and possibly carcinogenic.

7. Anti-Aging Creams: These contain lactic, glycolic, AHA and BHA acids, which can cause skin irritation, photosensitivity, and some are carcinogenic.

Check ingredients and pay attention to warning labels! If your product has severe warnings, you may want to reconsider using it on your body. Remember that your skin is a porous organ, and chemicals that are applied to it get into your bloodstream. Eyes and mouth are mucous membranes, and any products applied around them also make their way into your bloodstream. Products that are sprayed (aerosols, such as hair spray, etc.) are quickly absorbed by your respiratory system and into the bloodstream as well.

The Good News

You might be wondering what to do about the chemicals that seem to abound in the products we use. Well, the easiest way to avoid these toxic chemical ingredients is to buy all natural or organic personal care products. There are some essential oils that can be irritating to eyes or skin, but natural products made from mineral or botanical ingredients are infinitely safer than their conventional counterparts, and most work as well or better than the conventional versions.

The Outer Glow From an Inner Beauty

By Rose Windale

Beauty is a quality possessed by an object or a person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the senses. When we think of the beautiful, we equate it with a positive feeling of pleasure or goodness. Beauty is a subjective experience that could lead to powerful feelings of attraction and emotional well being. As society imposes a strong expectation on women to be beautiful, beauty can present a standard of comparison and may cause resentment and dissatisfaction when not achieved. Beauty may have inspired humans throughout history, but the quest of beauty can sometimes lead to obsession and eating disorders.

As too much emphasis is placed on superficial beauty, the inner person tends to be undermined.
Outward beauty can remain to be superficial. Although the media puts emphasis on outward physical beauty, it cannot be denied that inner beauty has withstood the ages. Intelligence, kindness and creativity are some of the qualities of inner beauty. Glitz and glamour may elicit awe-inspiring emotions, but inner beauty can stir a being to the depths of its soul. We tend to create our own criteria for judging the beauty of a woman. Prominent cheekbones, deep set eyes, luscious lips, flawless skin and perfect hair coupled with a shapely figure.

Society has created a standard of beauty that has become a mould that every woman wants to fit in. It can be a frustrating endeavor to try to fit in within the limits of outward physical beauty. Inner beauty, on the other hand has no limits. Inner beauty surpasses and transcends. Inner beauty sees no need to fit into a standard as it has the liberty to follow the dictates of its own virtues. Outward beauty may just be well the icing on the cake, but inner beauty is the complete substance within which is a blend of many fine characteristics such as etiquette and good manners, intelligence and character, charm and sense of humor, creativity and social and family values.

That inner beauty that makes a woman whole within will make her radiant on the outside with a warm and ready smile for everybody and soulful eyes that see good in all things. Just as there is a marked difference between a dear intricately hand-woven Persian carpet and a cheap machine made carpet, so is there a distinct disparity between shallow outward beauty and genuine inner beauty. Outward beauty can go to the extent of perfection but it remains spurious if it is ill-bred and heartless. Inner beauty on the other hand is elegantly hand knotted, each and every silky colorful thread so carefully crafted to create an astounding design of character and personality that fashions the masterpiece of a uniquely beautiful woman.

Inner beauty is a unique art on its own. Outward beauty can only be more appreciated if it stems from an inner beauty that sees a more noble purpose other than superficiality and vanity. For a woman to be truly beautiful, inner beauty must be inherently cultivated while the physical beauty is enhanced. It is well worth it to take care of yourself and your inner beauty. The next time you look into the mirror, ask yourself what true beauty is and if you are indeed beautiful. Once you take time to nourish your inner beauty, no doubt that that inner beauty will eventually come out on the surface.

Only then will you see that you are truly a beautiful woman.

The Top Ten List - Skin Care Tips

By Kristi Ambrose

Well-preserved, healthy skin is one of the most important constituents for beauty-enhancement. This article on skin care tips is an attempt to bestow the 10 best skin care tips to you. The list of skin care tips has been restricted to ten because anything more than that would not only be hard to remember, but also shadow the more important skin care tips. So let's see what these top ten skin care tips are:

- Know your skin type. This is one of the most important facets to your skin because not every skin care product suits every single person. A person that has oily skin, shouldn't wear the same or use the same products as someone who has dry skin. The products for all skin types as well as the ingredients, are used in order to help aid the person with their specific skin type.

- Drinking a lot of water can help replenish your skin and keep your skin moist which by the way is another really important aspect of keeping your skin healthy!

- Wash your face/skin daily, at least twice a day; once in the morning and once at night before bed. This process will help in getting rid of any elements including chemicals, dirt, grease and makeup. When cleaning your face it's a good idea to use lukewarm water because hot can damage your skin as well as cold.

- When washing your face and exfoliating it's important not to rub too hard, also when applying products around the eyes be sure to use a dabbing motion with your middle fingers, rather than a rubbing motion.

- Try to keep your skin moist at all times, this can be done through using a moisturizer. Dryness can lead to crackling of the top layer of skin and can lead to a rough appearance. Think of this like when you have chapped lips from the winter cold, to replenish the skin and moisturize you usually use lip balm, Vaseline, or something with "oil" in it. Well your face is the same way!

- Avoid the use of soap on your face. Soap should only be used from below the neck. A small but important skin care tip.

- Always use sunscreen, even in your makeup and moisturizers. It's a good idea to even use an SPF in the winter time and on cloudy days as well. UV radiations are known to cause skin cancer, so follow this skin care tip without fail!

- Surprisingly enough; exercise and sleep can also lead to better health in your skin as well. Lack of sleep can result in formation of wrinkles or "bags" below your eyes and lack of exercise can cause your skin to slack and lose its elasticity!

- Treat skin dilemmas with precaution. This skin care tip is about not neglecting any skin problems. Confer With your dermatologist before you go on to use a skin care product.

- Stress can also be harmful to your skin so it's important to take "breathers" when need be to beat the stress in your life. Try doing something you really enjoy doing that you might not get to do all the time, this will often cause relaxation in your body!

This author is a HUGE fan of skin lighteners

The Best Shampoo For Dry Hair

By Tim Faber

Cold, windy weather can bring on the toughest of hair challenges - dry hair. With static electricity, increased damage, and wind-blown hairstyle destruction, winter weather can wreak havoc on our hair and leave the best style hard to manage.

Of all the hair problems we are asked about - and the toughest to fix - are those related to dry, fly-away hair. When cold weather strikes, we are overwhelmed by the number of calls we receive for the best shampoo for dry hair. Low humidity and cooler temperatures bring with them gusty and high wind together with a constant moving from a warm office or home into the elements.

Removing clothing - hats, scarves, sweaters and coats - creates static electricity that leaves hair clinging to the sides of our heads with un-manageable difficulty. Wind and sun reduce scalp oils that protect and coat the hair shaft and can dry-out hair and reduce moisture, resulting in increased breaking, lack of hold, and loss of control and body.

The best shampoo for dry hair involves taking a closer look at active ingredients as well as paying close attention to your hair care regimen.

Lack of moisture is the biggest problem to state the obvious. Shampoos that topically infuse moisture stand the best chance of reducing fly-away and building strength. Moisture and adequate hydration act to "plump" the follicle shaft and facilitate nutrient delivery, improving the root, bulb and cuticle health. Improved health and scalp circulation reduce breaking and split-ends while adding control and fullness.

The best ingredients we have seen are Jojoba Oil, Panthenol and Emu Oil. Jojoba Oil is a naturally derived oil from a shrub indigenous to the western United States. Jojoba Oil mimics sebum, the natural hair oil secreted by sebaceous glands associated with all follicle pores. Jojoba Oil helps to coat and strengthen the shaft and works to rebuild protein bonds that add strength and helps lock-in moisture.

Panthenol is used widely by many hair manufacturers (ever wonder where the word Pantene came from?). Panthenol soothes the scalp and invigorates hair growth while adding protection and repairing damaged hair.

Emu Oil is widely used in both hair care and skin care products. It has an uncanny ability to penetrate the hair and scalp to provide natural, deep moisturization. It is well known for its healing properties and is often used in dandruff shampoos to soothe irritation and inflammation. Its primary benefit is that it helps "deliver" Panthenol and Jojoba Oil into the shaft for maximum hydration.

The best shampoo for dry hair is one that delivers protein protection while infusing moisture. Hydration is the key to reducing fly-away and increasing control of hard to manage hair. With added moisture you'll reduce frizziness and split-ends while increasing manageability over your hairstyle!

Dark Under Eye Circles and Bags Can Be Beaten

By Jennifer Austin

Dark under eye circles and bags can be beaten if one understands what they are, what causes them and what can be done about them. Unfortunately, most people allow them free reign and do nothing other than try to cover them up. Luckily, there are many ways to fight dark under eye circles and the puffiness. The unfortunate thing about dark under eye circles and bags cause people to look older than they actually are.

What are under eye circles and bags, exactly? The actual term for dark under eye circles is oxidizing hemoglobin. The oxidizing hemoglobin begins with the capillaries. The capillaries are the vessels which hold blood that is oxygenated; they are so tiny in fact, that the hemoglobin must line up to pass through. The capillaries around the eyes lie very close to the surface. Often these cells leave their fixed path and end up in the skin where the enzymes shatter them, as well as the hemoglobin. When this occurs, the dark under eye circles result.

Does my lifestyle play a role in dark under eye circles and eye bags?

Possibly. Increasing the number of hours you can help a little. Exercise, drinking plenty of water, and cutting down on the salt intake can help with the eye bags.

Do home remedies exist?

Yes.

You can try cucumber. It may help lighten the shade, although, there won't be a huge improvement.

Another home remedy is tea. Of all the teas, chamomile tea is the most recommended due to its anti-inflammatory nature. Not only can it reduce the inflammation, but it is a known antioxidant that can do wonders for the skin.

Sleep on more of an incline by adding an extra pillow, which will help with some drainage. This can reduce the amount of swelling under the eyes.

Chronic medical conditions, such as sinuses can also cause eye bags. Allergies can also contribute to eye bags. Constant inflating and deflating will worsen the condition so you should see your physician to treat that problem first.

There are many solutions to dark under circles and bags that so many people suffer from...some invasive and others, completely non-invasive. The choice is entirely up to each individual.

Are you tired of people commenting on how tired you look? Fed up with looking older than you really are? Dark under eye circles and bags give the wrong impression to other people. Don't accept it, fight back.
