Fabulous Beauty Tips - Which Cosmetics Create the Perfect Finish?

By Kacy Carr

Why is it so important to have access to makeup and cosmetic advice before use? An honest answer is because some women haven`t got a clue how to apply makeup properly to create the perfect finish. Every beauty product will be tried and tested to an extent where it is given the okay after reaching the final stage to prove that it will do the job for which it was purposely developed. If these products are not used accordingly - then heaven forbid on the result.

Come on girls be honest, have you never joked at another`s expense because of their lipstick shade or to how it was applied. We have more women walking round like Coco the Clown than that of a natural beauty. There is a technique to applying cosmetics and to buying them. Yes; it all begins at the shop counter. Use the wrong beauty product can only result in a wrong you.
Ideal beauty products for your skin type and hair colouring are vital. The first step to being beautiful is to ask yourself, do you really need cosmetics. Natural beauty comes from within. If you feel naked with out lipstick then you owe it to yourself to find out the tricks of the trade.

Useful tips below.

Aloe Vera - Resembling the cactus, it is a plant belonging to the Lily family. Some varieties have valuable medicinal purposes. Much of the plant is water, but the outer leaf contains sap which is included in lotions and gels. Aloe Vera is rich in vitamins/minerals and is also a fabulous source for skin care. It is used for skin conditions like eczema, mild burns and scrapes.

Mascara - If you want to maximise volume then simply buy mascara designed for volume. They are clearly marked. Ask chemist assistant if unsure. More volume in mascara means the more solid in-depth look to your eyes

Nail Polish - Apply clear base coat before using coloured polish. Base-coat is important as it helps prevent nail polish staining the nails; it also gives a smooth even finish on which to apply the colour. Best technique for applying nail varnish is to do it in three strokes: one down the center and one down each side. Keep cotton wool pads and polish remover easily to hand for fear of a slip up. Toenails can be awkward to cover. Sit comfortably resting one foot on a stool in front of you and separate each toe with separators. Use cotton wool or rolled up rags if you have no toe separators. Save time because you don't have to wait for the first coat to dry before second application. The first coat will wet again as soon as the solvent from the second comes in contact.
Two thin coats will dry quicker than one thick layer of which can appear unsightly. Wait until this dries and apply top coat to seal.

Some women disagree to the three stroke method. If you have large nails paint the whole nail, if you have short/small nails paint the same. If you have short fingers only apply polish to the centre of the nail. Use pale shades for short stubby hands and dark shades for the delicate look.

Foundation - Make sure you have removed every trace of makeup from the day before fresh foundation is applied. Makeup should be cleansed off every night. New foundation layered over leftover debris looks unattractive? Never rush any beauty pact with the face as it can have disastrous results. When you apply foundation have the room nice and bright. Dim lighting will promote the colour in a different tone.

Perfume - Choosing Scent is not really quite straight forward. Remember the smell of scent on another person may not be the same on you. Spicy musk is said to arouse sexual emotions and vanilla is believed to be an aphrodisiac. Floral scents are seen as fresh and calming. Skin types react differently to perfume so bear this in mind when testing.

Never rely on sniffing perfume from the bottle, Spray or dab onto the skin. Leave to settle for 5 minutes. Do not sample more than 4-5 perfumes at once, this will only confuse your judgement.
Apply scent to pulse point on the wrist or in the crook of the elbow. Flowery fragrances are more ideal in hot months. Perfume is best applied to pulse points: the inner wrists, behind the ears, and lower neck

Lip-liner -There is a knack to applying this beauty asset, one is not to rush and to have a steady hand. Lip-liner should be near to same shade as your lipstick, Ensure your pencil is sharp to get a good line. A blunt lip-liner pencil is a no go.

Draw along the lips, beginning at the center and working towards the edges, both sides from the middle each time; this gives the best shape and smoothest line. Do not rush. Lip-liner should be applied before lipstick. It makes sense i.e. smudging. Not recommended to cut corners initiating this task.

Blusher -To get the best affect from blusher is to find one most natural to your skin colouring. The primary object is to choose a colour that matches your cheeks natural colour. Use a lighter colour during the day and darker for the evening

Powder - Apply face powder on the lips, it is said to make lipstick last longer and prevent 'bleeding'.

A regular mistake made with eyeliner is to draw a thick black line across the lid, rather than working the pigment into the lash roots. The ideal way is to warm the pencil on the back of your hand first and lining the upper lid, look upwards, and apply from below the lashes to get a subtle blended line. If your eyes are small or deep-set, line the lower lashes, too, applying a dark shadow with a blunt brush for a softer effect. Black is poplar and suits everyone, however teach yourself to compliment

Accentuate blue eyes using warm-toned eye shadows; deep purple and blues work just as well as gold and copper shades, provided a warm undertone is retained. Never be tempted to over add as it can spoil the look altogether. Hazel eyes look fabulous with soft plum, brown and forest greens, while brown eyes just about suit any colour or shade of eye shadow.

Laughter lines - All you need to hide laughter lines is a concealer pencil. Draw a few small lines next to the edges of the mouth with pencil, not to much. Use a sponge to blend in to the corner of the mouth - and hey presto you crack a smile without the cracks.

Foot Care - How to Care For and Have Beautiful Feet

By Karla Buzzell

Taking care of your feet is something you should be doing all year long, but it is especially important in the summer months, because they are more exposed to the elements and we treat them rougher than in the rest of the year. For vanity sake, you will also be wearing sandals and no hose, so the public see your feet in all their glory. You can maintain them to look good and avoid any problems.

I used to go to the salon and have pedicures, but I found them to be stressful and worrisome.
Many people think of this as a time to relax, but for me I was never sure who was going to be working on me and what skill level they had. It seems as though the salons who offer fast foot care do not make appointments for any one worker, but instead whoever is free is who will take care of the customer. I also worried about the sanitation of the tools and equipment. This is an important factor when have work done on your feet, as infections can be very detrimental.

What do you look for at a salon? First off, check to see the cleanliness of the workstations and how the tools are sanitized. It is perfectly acceptable if you can ask any questions you might have, and by all means, leave if you have any discomfort.

Do not allow the technician to cut your cuticles, as they act as a barrier to protect the feet. Have them pushed back instead. Cutting the cuticle exposed your body to viruses, bacteria and fungus.

Although it might feel good, whirlpools tubs for then feet are very hard to sterilize, as the germs and dirt get into the jets. It takes time to get them clean, and often there is not enough time between clients to sufficiently sanitize them. If the salon uses whirlpool tubs, be the first client of the day, after the equipment has had the night to soak clean. It is much better to have the technician use a metal tub to soak your feet in, as they can be easily disinfected.

Did you know that removing dead skin off of your feet with a razor is illegal in most states? It surely has not stopped the practice! Demand that your feet are treated with a pumice stone, file or scrub instead. If you need further work done on the stubborn calluses, or if you have multiple conditions, such as cracked soles, calluses, or corns, seek the help of a podiatrist. Do not allow a salon tech to do this job.

For me, I have found that I can get a better pedicure at home. You can either do it yourself, or make it a fun time and have one or several friends get together for a spa treatment time and help one another. This is much more relaxing than worrying about what is lurking at the local foot parlor, and it can be a good time to catch up on the current gossip and spend time with good friends.

Where do you start? First off,

Start your self pedicure by clipping your nails and take off the old polish. Do not just polish over the old lacquer, as many people seem to do. It is important that you remove it, so that you can make sure that your nails are in healthy condition.

Use a pumice sponge to take off the dead skin and stubborn calluses.

Now is the time to soak your feet in warm water for 10 minutes with foot bath salts and then exfoliate them with a good cream made for that specific purpose. You can do this on your feet, heals and also your legs and ankles. After this rinse thoroughly.

Push back your cuticles using a manicure stick. Do this very gently so as not to tear the skin.
Then use the stick to clean under your toenails.

Put relaxing cream on feet and legs. Then clean the nail bed with polish remover. If you have problems with diabetes, apply a cream for diabetic feet. This can help to avoid foot problems.

If your nails are brittle, apply a nail strengthener. Then apply a base coat, Protecting Base Coat, a color enamel of your choice and top coat. Wait at least 20 minutes for the toenails to dry. This is the time when you can set back and relax. If you are alone, make that phone call to a friend that you have not had time to do, or if you are sharing your time with friends, now it the time to chat.

Have special tools for the use of your feet. Even if you own your own tools, they need to be sanitized after each use. Soak the metal tools in rubbing alcohol for 25 minutes and then seal them in a plastic bag.

Do these steps regularly, and not only will you have beautiful feet, you can avoid problems with your feet so that you can be relaxed and enjoy not only your summer months but year round.

My website, http://www.beauty-fromheadtotoe.com/ has a full line of skin care products from the French Riviera. There is all of the foot care products you need to have fabulous feet. Karla Buzzell

What You Need to Know About Water, Anti-aging and Your Health

By Jeff Behar

These simple tips about water and hydration can drastically improve your health and appearance:

Drink more water every day. Water plays the single most important role in our lives in achieving and maintaining good health, avoiding rapid aging, and development of so many debilitating conditions. Consider this: Your body is estimated to be about 60 to 70 percent water. Blood is mostly water, and your muscles, lungs, and brain all contain a lot of water. The body needs water to function. Many parts of the body contain water, including the brain, blood and lean muscle. Water helps you look good. By flushing out toxins and impurities, water can make your skin clearer, smoother and younger looking. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers. Proper hydration supports skin health and minimizes the development of fine lines and wrinkles. Water also helps dissolve nutrients (including anti-oxidants) to make them available to the body, as well as and oxygen to cells. Anti-oxidants help fight free radicals, one of the primary causes of aging.

Regarding how much to drink, a good estimate is to take your body weight in pounds and divide that number in half. That gives you the number of ounces of water per day that you need to drink. For example, if you weigh 160 pounds, you should drink at least 80 ounces of water per day. If you exercise you should drink another eight ounce glass of water for every 20 minutes you are active. If you drink alcohol, you should drink at least an equal amount of water. When you are traveling on an airplane, it is good to drink eight ounces of water for every hour you are on board the plane. If you live in an arid climate, you should add another two servings per day. As you can see, your daily need for water can add up to quite a lot.

Drink toxin free water. Water is one of the most important factors when becoming and staying healthy and vibrant. Our bodies are 70% water and our blood is 94% water - if we follow the recommendation to drink at least two litres of water per day and this water is acid and polluted - imagine what this will do to our bodies?!

There has been much discussion over the past few years about the quality of the water we drink and the effects that this may have on our health. Many health experts believe that the low-quality of tap water can pose health concerns, particularly if we rely upon this as our main source of water when consuming the recommended 2%2B litres each day.

Your tap water might not be toxin free. Plumbing can contain lead solder and can be a source of toxic pollution to your body. If you find out you have lead plumbing, and water is abundant in your area, let the water run for about thirty seconds before filling your glass. This can reduce the amount of lead - and the bad taste that accompanies it - in the water you drink.

Bottled water if left in the plastic bottle may also be a source of toxins to your body. Studies show that many of the plastics used for bottling water leach out chemicals, toxic to the body. If you are drinking lots of bottled water you msy in fact slowly be poisoning your body. One optin is to drink bottled water from glass bottles, or to include a reverse osmosis filter on your tap water to filter out toxins that might otherwise enter your water source and your body.

Consider adding alkaline water to your diet. Although still consider controversial by some, there are many believers that by adding alkaline water to your daily diet you can counteract the acidifying effect of eating processed foods and many other foods that when digested, acidify in the body. Acid wastes (from the lifestyles we lead - not only from food and drink, but also from stress and other pollutants) are dumped into the bloodstream and lymph, and then are transported to the liver and kidneys for the detoxification processing and elimination.

The pH level of our internal fluids affects every living cell in our bodies and the effect that over-acidification can have upon the health of our bodies is immense, with a chronically over acidic pH creating an extremely negative environment which affects all cellular functions from the beatings of the heart to the neural workings of the brain. There are many studies linking acidosis to premature aging and chronic health conditions.

Acid water ((less than pH 7) is a hotbed of microorganisms, bacteria and viruses. There is an ever increasing number of alternative medicine practitioners that believe that In order to hydrate your body optimally, you need to drink water that is alkalizing and mineral rich. It is believed that alkaline water helps to neutralize acids and remove toxins from the bod and also acts as a conductor of electrochemical activity from cell to cell.

His work also often appears in several of the major health and fitness newsletters, blogs, RSS Feeds, as well as print magazines, and many other online health, nutrition, and fitness websites, like http://www.musclemagfitness.com/ and http://www.jeffbehar.com/ just to name a few.

No Chip Manicure in Chicago

By Vernadine Kornegay

Many customers are now well aware of the new gel nail system better known as the "No Chip Manicure," by Biosculpture now blowing through the Windy City of Chicago. A completely new method for applying nail polish that last 2-3 weeks without chipping. The creative and artistic method involves using a paint brush and comes in over 100 beautiful shiny colors. I have been doing the no chip manicure for two years now and I completely stand by the product. Customers need to know that this light in appearance gel nail system is not cheap at all and the price of the application fits the overhead to carry this 5 star rated product in the beautiful black and gold trimmed jars shipped here from Africa.

Their are steps that the non chip gel system requires to avoid lifting and damaging of the nails. The very first step is Sanitation: this should be the very first and the most important step for all nail techs and this high end gel system comes with their own cleanser, sanitizor, soak off solution and a whole line of conditioning treatments specifically geared towards natural healthier nails. Second, a mini mani for cleaning of the cuticles and preparing the clients nail bed for the no chip manicure application. Third, applying conditioning treatment if needed and spraying a sanitizer/fungus prevention onto the clients nails and hands.

Discoloration of the gel (yellowing) can be commonly found and can be prevented by switching the top coat from clear gel to the s-gel. Also making sure that the nails are completely wiped after the final step. The no chip manicure is known for coming off the thumbs of typers who would need extra attention and applying their top coat to the finish product; for the no chip manicure is not completely harden and dry for at least another 24 hours.

All customers should know how to take care of no chip manicure and their manicurist should explain to their customers the easy steps on how to remove their non chip maniucure safe at home. Also, you should not have to remove your non chip manicure everytime you return to the shop if you are receiving the same non chip color; you also do not have to remove your non chip if you decide to do a darker no chip color and you have on a lighter non chip color; this is called a refill. The no chip manicurist should know how to remove 50% of the product and proceed with the proper steps.

Not only are salons/spas wasting products and not being efficient when they remove the gel upon every visit but this can also weaken the customer nails. Customers can also save money by having a refill instead of removing the no chip upon every visit. Also the non chip when applied correctly; shouldn't take no longer than fifteen minutes to remove in the soak off solution.
Allowing seven minutes for extra layering of the S-gel. Your no chip manicure should also appear thin and light weight like nail polish with a gloss shine; not thick and dull. Once finished drying under the UV lamp you can reach into your purse for your keys and your ready to go!

Customers have the right to know the correct way this application should be applied. Here are some things you should ask and look out for: If they don't do refills run with your money they are only in it for the buck! Please remember that the non chip system is by Biosculpture and is beautifully packed in black and gold trimmed jars. This gel nail system literally enhances stronger, natural nail growth and comes with a line of conditioning treatments for nails. This is a high end gel nail system; unlike the gel here in the U.S., which hardens upon drying allowing no flexibility; the non chip system is flexible, ODORLESS, and requires no buffing at all once finished. The no chip manicure should feel light like nail polish and appear very natural looking with a high gloss shine once finished. It should take no longer than fifteen minutes to completely soak off the non chip application. All gels in its colors is in gel form (no powders) and is straight from the black and gold trimmed jars. The no chip manicurist should be certified under a trained no chip instructor to avoid damaging the client nails.

Healthy Hair Advice

By Michele Caldwell

The summer months are the time of the year that your hair grows the fastest, it is also the time of year that your hair takes the most damage. If you spend very much time in the sun or in a pool, you probably already know this. The sun alone can lighten your natural pigment as well as hair that has been treated with color. When you combine the sun's rays with pool chemicals the two together can cause damage to your hair. You should always take precautions when you're in the sun for very long, by wearing a hat or scarf. You can also purchase spray-in products that contain a sunscreen for your hair. There are several kinds on the market they are usually under the name "Color protectors" or "Color shields", and are similar to leave-in conditioners. Using one of these products is one of the best things you can do for your hair in the summer.

Keeping your hair trimmed regularly is important not only to keep its style, but to keep your ends from getting frayed. Not everyone's hair grows out evenly, some people will notice that one side is thicker than the other, this side usually grows faster too. In some people their hair grows noticeably faster on one side than the other, while others do not. It has been said that the side we sleep on affects this growth difference, but it is most likely hereditary. Not everyone needs to trim their hair every six weeks, some may not need trimming for two to four months.
Everyone's pace of hair growth is different.

Just remember that if it looks like the ends needs trimming or if it's too long to work into your style, then it time for a trim.

Using the right products for your hair type is another way to keep your hair healthy. If your hair is color-treated or permed you need to be using products formulated for that hair type. If not, you risk having your haircolor fade or your perm to loose its curl. You can buy these products from your stylist, beauty supply or even a discount store. Just make sure it says on the label, that is it safe for color-treated hair or permed hair. Most salon brands carry their own line of color-treated hair products and permed hair products. As for the straight hair wearer, there are many, many products to be found. There are anti-frizz serums, ultra straight balms, straight smoothers and other leave-in gels, that you apply to damp hair and comb through. If you use a flat iron to straighten your hair, you might consider using a flat-iron spray to protect your hair from the heat and control frizzing. Whichever product you use on your hair, you never use hot water to shampoo your hair, hot water is very damaging to your hair cuticle and not good on the scalp either. Instead use warm or cool water to shampoo and rinse your hair, your hair will be much better off.

Having healthy hair goes hand in hand with having a healthy body, if you let you general health go down so does the condition of your hair. A healthy diet and regular exercise affects the hair, so if you take care of yourself your hair is going to show it. Remember, if you can't always eat right to take a vitamin supplement to give your hair, skin and body what it needs. Always treat your hair with the most care you possibly can, never yank a comb through tangled hair, start at the bottom of your hair and work up. Or you can use a Detangler if your hair is hard to comb through. Just remember if you treat your hair kindly, by keeping it trimmed, using the right products, the right water temperature and taking care of your health your hair will be healthy.

Shea Butter Lip Care

By Dr. Robyn Tisdale Scott

One of the most annoying things in the whole world is chapped lips! A lot of people experience this when the weather changes and it can be a nightmare. Chapped lips can become so bad that they are painful, cracked and even bleeding. There are many products out there that claim to help with chapped lips, but some of them don't provide the healing benefits that you need.
Chapped lips can also be a perfect entering point for infections, and that is never a good thing. There are some things that you can do to prevent and heal your chapped lips.

Don't lick your lips! In colder weather or extremely hot dry weather, licking your lips can cause them to become chapped. If they feel dry, rub on some shea butter for moisture. This will not only hydrate your lips, but provides a protective barrier against cold weather and wind, which can easily chap your lips. Shea Butter is all natural, and it is perfectly safe to use on your lips. In fact, a lot of people eat Shea Butter in chocolates, or as an alternative to butter and oil!

Another thing that Shea Butter does is help heal lips that are already chapped. It is widely known for protection and healing of many different things, like scrapes, cuts, bruises and mild burns. It has anti inflammatory and anti bacterial properties which speed up healing and provide some much needed relief to aching chapped lips. If your lips are chapped, simply rub Shea Butter into them the same way you would rub lip balm on.

Shea Butter is also great for making your lips soft and healthy. If you have rough lips, simply use Shea Butter several times a day or as needed. It is great for softening skin and healing dry skin. If you want your lips to be very soft, Shea Butter is one of the few all natural ingredients that will soften, heal, and protect dry and rough lips. Never be afraid to give your sweet heart a kiss again!

Often times, in windy weather, our lips and skin can become wind burned. Similarly, in the sun, they can become sunburned. Shea Butter contains natural latex which protects against windy weather, and natural sunscreen that will save them from the sun! Shea Butter is a product that can be utilized for many different things. Keep your lips healthy, soft, and protected with Shea Butter!

5 Advantages of Owning a Hair Dryer

By Kristy Carlson

Hair dryers are probably the favorite of consumers among the hair devices available today. The many choices you can see in the market prove this. They come in variety of sizes and forms to suit the need of the user. To eradicate the notion that dryers leave your hair dry and frizzy, manufacturers continue to develop and improve it.

Many own a hair dryer because of its several advantages. Here are some of them:

1. Your hair dries faster as compared to using hand towels. The primary purpose of this device is to dry your hair and it does that efficiently. If you are using a hair dryer, it will cut your drying time. This gives you more time to spend on other things.

2. It leaves your hair smooth and shiny. There are new types of hair dryers such as the ionic hair dryers that leave your hair smooth and shiny. This gives your hair a healthy glow. When used properly, most hair dryers will give your hair the same effect.

3. Most come with attachments which are beneficial for your hair. These attachments are use in order for the device to adjust to different hair types. With them, anyone can achieve a beautifully dried hair no matter what type of hair they have.

4. It is very handy and you have control over it. Since they come in various sizes, the consumers have the option of what to choose to fit their need. If they travel often and want a light device to bring with them, they can have a smaller dryer with attachments that will boost the heat energy coming out of it. If you want full control over the heat that it produces, you can purchase those that come with heat settings. With it, you can set the heat of the dryer on a desirable level.

5. It allows you to manage your hair easily. The technique to having a well-dried hair is using a good dryer. The best choice for the job is the ionic hair dryers. They release negatively charged ions that break down the water which makes it easier for the hair to absorb. It makes the hair well hydrated which gives the hair more volume. This in turn makes it easier to manage and style and gives the hair a smooth and shiny effect.

A hair dryer has a simple use and yet it gives a person several conveniences. Although one can dry her hair with hand towels, it takes a long time. Using the said device will cut the drying time in an impressive level. It not only dries your hair, it also gives it a healthier glow especially when used properly. You can only use it correctly if you have the right kind of dryer and you are comfortable with its size and heat level. So make sure that you consider these features when you choose one. In addition, it makes your hair more manageable and easy to style.

Use Water Temperature to Heal

By Anne Keefe

Did you know that you can use water temperature to heal? The term "Hydrotherapy" literally means "water healing". This type of therapy involves the extended use of baths or showers in the home using hot or cold temperatures. There is documentation showing how hydrotherapy is a very powerful tool that can relieve muscle soreness, help with relaxation, increase oxygen, nutrients and lymphatic flow.

It is important to know how water temperature affects your body. Here are a couple of tips before you get into your bathtub or enjoy a foot bath.

** practice safety by checking the water temperature with a thermometer

** never get to the point where you have the chills or experience fatigue

A Hot Bath (99-108 degrees) is good for insomnia, to relieve pain, increase circulation and eliminate toxins. Your heart rate can increase by as much as 4x the normal rate for the first 5 minutes, then will normalize. Recommended time: 20 minutes or less. Follow with cool water.

A Warm Bath (97-101degrees) is the most common temperature for the average bath. Spending 20 minutes to an hour is optimal for relaxation.

A Tepid Bath (92-97 degrees) is really good for when you want to rejuvenate or have inflammation conditions such as hives, itching, or skin rashes. Recommended time is up to 1 hour.

A Cold Bath (59-68 degrees) is recommended for short periods of time and are most common in foot and hand baths. Recommended time is just a few seconds.

Using essential oils as well as other herbs is a common practice when bathing in the tub and has synergistic effects. Supposedly, the Romans used Lavender in their baths as well as being used in laundries.

How to Get the Perfect Look to Your Makeup For the Summer

By Jean Morgan

Deciding what makeup to use in summer need not be a difficult process. You simply have to get mineral makeup such as ColorScience or other cosmetics which do not contain talc. Heidi Schulze, who is a makeup artist at the Michael Kemper Salon, says that melting makeup is something her clients often complain about, and she invariably suggests ColorScience products to them. These products are sold at the salon as their finish is not like a mask and it is also water-resistant. ColorScience makeup lasts for about ten hours.

Schulze also says that an oil-free tinted moisturizer for color will also double as sunscreen. Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer (available at Neiman Marcus, Sephora, Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom) is a favorite of several makeup artists, as are tinted moisturizers by Murad (available at Michael Kemper Salon) and Trish McEvoy (available at Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue). Cheeks tend to look pink in summer anyway due to the heat, but Schulze says that using a light gel brush will provide a slight color. Tart and Benefit are sold at Sephora and they are not greasy, but provide a flushed look. Mineral makeup is a great alternative if you are wearing blush.

You should remember that lips need protection from the sun too. It is best to apply a moisturizing lip balm and then to apply gloss on that. There are plenty of options available, and you can select the ones you like best.

Mineral makeup is natural and it is certainly the best makeup you can use in summer. It became a rage in Hollywood and the rest of the US a few years ago, but a lot of women still do not understand how wonderful mineral makeup is for summer months. Mineral makeup is made from natural ingredients, the two main ones being zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.

Titanium dioxide is a waterproof, light mineral which is ground into a very fine powder and is the principal ingredient in the makeup. As it lies lightly on the skin, its tiny plates cover the pores of the skin and protect them from bacteria-feeding moisture. This is the reason dermatologists all over the world call mineral makeup 'acne fighting makeup'. Titanium dioxide is also not absorbable in water, and it can thus be applied when going to the pool or beach because it is waterproof and will maintain the flawless complexion. You will be able to swim and play at the beach while maintaining the finished look the makeup had when you first put it on in the morning.

Mineral makeup will not run down your face when you sweat because it is waterproof and will not be absorbed by the sweat on your face. This makes it perfect for many summer sports such as horse riding, mountain biking, hiking, etc.

Zinc oxide, which is the other main ingredient, is a natural sunscreen which is used in sun protections products all over the world. Thus, zinc oxide makes mineral makeup the perfect sunscreen, and the SPF is 25. You can wear extra sunscreen under the makeup for additional sun protection in summer.

Mineral makeup will not harm your skin if you keep it on for a long time, and you can even leave it on overnight if you have a busy morning ahead of you. Using mineral makeup will make your skin healthier.

Thus, in a nutshell, mineral makeup is a natural way to fight acne, protect your skin from the sun, and have great looking skin, and it is also waterproof which makes it excellent for summer sports.

Visit Mineral Makeup Facts for more information about using mineral makeup to get a flawless finish and to buy mineral makeup products that are tried and tested. Mineral Makeup Facts has tutorials, articles and offers to guide you through buying and using mineral makeup

3 Tips For Natural Beauty

By Caleb Anderson

Beauty is a feature of a place, idea, person or object, which gives a perceptual experience of satisfaction, meaning or pleasure. A perfect beauty is a person whom people admire, or who has features largely ascribed to attractiveness in a specific culture. Several historic women such as Helen of Troy, Cleopatra VII and Marilyn Monroe have become symbols of beauty.

Often the subjective experience of beauty comprises of an explanation of some entity as being in harmony and balance with nature which ultimately results in feelings of emotional well-being and attraction.

Not everyone desires a complete make over, as some prefer to maintain a more natural appearance. So how can women attain an attractive look without the use of heavy makeup and cosmetics? Following are a few natural beauty advices and tips which will place you on the path to an unaffected, beautiful you.

1. Practice a healthy lifestyle:

Natural beauty is analogous to a general healthy appearance. Begin with a better lifestyle. Your daily life and attitudes reflect on how you appear to others. It will not be a cause of concern only if people take care of their body.

Eat a suitable, well-balanced diet. Nutritious food results in proper functioning of your internal organs, which shows on the outer surface as well. The trick is to go through the labels cautiously and consume nutritious foods with negligible preservatives. Good nourishment is the key to a person's longevity and beauty.

The world's best skin will not be able to defeat a flabby body. If an individual has been slacking off make it a point to get in good physical shape. Set some practical fitness targets to make your body trim and fit. Start with short-term targets and once they are attained, set new ones.

2. Take care of your skin:

Water plays an important role in maintaining your skin's natural beauty. For radiant skin, it is necessary to drink water to keep the skin supple and soft. Bear in mind to apply lotion to damp skin after taking a shower.

Look for herbal, organic and natural beauty recipes for basic problems of the skin. Whether it is blemishes or dry skin, a person can target the regions, which need it most without using chemicals that irritate the skin.

To avoid leathery skin, you need to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines by not exposing much to the sun's hazardous rays. Make it a point to use a sunscreen with SPF of about 15 when enjoying outdoor activities.

3. Reduce Stress:

These days, stress is inevitable because of the fast lifestyle and often reflects in a person's eyes and skin. Make it a routine to pamper yourself and relax everyday if possible. This will enable an individual to plan the subsequent day properly.

When stressed out, be alert of your facial expressions. For instance, if individuals often raise their eyebrows, there will be a possibility of getting permanent wrinkles on the forehead. Thus, try to replace such expressions with fidgeting.

Makeup For Enhancing Natural Beauty:

Individuals need to make use of only the best beauty tools and cosmetic brushes to cover imperfections and add to their finest features. This enables you to use only the required amount while blending in any surplus color.

Apply a sheer foundation or tinted moisturizer with a damp sponge. This will show your natural skin tone while covering minor flaws. Use liquid brush or creme coalesces more naturally then powder. Apply outwards to your cheek's apple and into your hairline to avoid makeup lines.

A person can now improve the beauty of eyelashes without using colors or clumps. These days, clear mascara is accessible to give your eyelashes shine and luster.

Kids and Hairstyles - What Do I Need to Know?

By Daniel Senu-oke and Kennedy Senu-Oke

There are certainly some differences between kids and adults when it comes to nearly anything that you can imagine. You've really got to keep this in mind when it comes down to how to handle children that are getting their hair done whether it's in a salon or at home. Kids are spontaneous and certainly don't really care what their hair looks like.. they play and get dirt in their hair and the last thing they are worried about is their hair. So unlike adults, this is a pretty large area of consideration to think about.

Now take one obvious note here that all kids have parents and kids are definitely a reflection of where they come from and even in their own individuality are still a reflection in some degree of their caretakers. Commonly most parents are in favor of short hair when it comes to their boys.
Short hair makes a kids hair pretty manageable and simplicity is usually the popular theme when you think about kids hair as well. Obviously this is because kids tend to lead very active lifestyles. Alternatively, for girls, the parents favor longer hair because the hair can be pulled back into ponytails and it's easier for the parent to style and of course, it's "more feminine".

Styles that are in fashion for girls are bobs (the perfect little hairstyle), braids, crimping (for your pre-teen girls) and highlights for teens. Of course there are just some processes that you should stay away from depending on the age of the child. One of the most basic things to stay away from is highlighting your child's hair too soon. Before puberty, you never know what the highlight is going to do or how it will react to the hair. After puberty the hair is more predictable in terms of how it will react to chemicals used in highlighting.

For boys, fades and spiky hair are definitely in fashion. Spikes are fun to work with and truly any length of a fade is always a good choice for your male child.

When you think of kids hair just be sure to find something that is always age appropriate and be mindful of the time that it takes to style and manage it considering how playful and energetic kids are and can be.

Want Long Gorgeous Hair? Read On

By Helen Cox

Most, if not all of us have been there, we go to the hairdressers and make that big decision to have our hair cut into the latest short hair trend only to wind up finding we really can't pull it off and wishing for our long locks to be back. Sound familiar? Well never fear there is light at the end of the hair nightmare, a light that takes the form of hair extensions.

I know what most of you are probably thinking right now, hair extensions are the biggest cause of damage to your hair; however you couldn't be more wrong! Yes there is a risk to your natural hair but this risk only exists if you have your extensions applied anywhere other than an experienced salon. I suggest to you ignore the horror stories that you have heard and go and talk to an experienced stylist today. In order to ensure that you get the best treatment possible it is advised that you research into a few salons before deciding which one to use as this way you will be able to find out about the history that the salon has with the application and removal of hair extensions to make sure you are in the safest of hands.

Hair extensions are the perfect solution if you are in the process of growing your natural hair out or if you want to add extra volume to your hair as well as being a good alternative if you want to add colour to your hair but you don't want to dye your natural hair. There are several different types of hair extensions available such as human hair or synthetic hair, which both come in an array of colours to match your natural hair. Also there are a number of different ways in which the extensions can be attached to your natural hair; the method of application that you have depends on the length of time that you want to wear your extensions for and your cash flow situation. Some of the methods of application that are available to you are clip in, weaving, sewing, braiding and gluing. These are just a few of the methods of application that exist and to make sure you get the one that is best suited to you go and speak to your stylist.

It is safe to say that all of the methods of application that are available will last up to six months as they as they are treated correctly and applied in the correct way. You also have to think about aftercare, which is another reason why it is important to get your extensions applied at a professional salon. A stylist who is trained in the application and removal of hair extensions will ensure that you receive the best quality aftercare by informing you of the best shampoos, conditioners and styling products to use on your hair extensions. They will also book you in for an aftercare appointment to make sure everything is ok with your extensions.

So if you are considering having extensions applied keep the above in mind and enjoy your long locks for the time that you have them.

The Past, the Present and the Future, It's All in You

By Kristy Carlson

All of us have a past to look back at. We have fun moments we want to cherish and there are several unfortunate times we want to forget. As much as the wonderful things that we have done, there are also some that we regret doing. There are words that we wish, we never sad. And words we hoped, we had the courage to say.

Life is what we make it. And no matter how we try, the things we have done in the past cannot be undone. That is why we have been told to make the most of the time we have, because we can never regain the time lost. We can only look back, be proud or be ashamed. Some have managed to move on from the things gone wrong but others are still haunted by their decisions.
But life was not all that difficult to live with. There were times when the only decision we had to make was whether to use the professional hair straighteners or just leave the waves alone.
There was a time when the choices present were just the blue and grey ties. And although these decisions did not have life changing effect on us, it had an impact on how we felt that day; a day that will probably appear in our biography.

All the decisions we made whether big or small, have contributed a lot to where we are right now. And the past is a constant reminder of the importance of the present. It tells us to stop worrying about the history that we cannot do anything about. The only things that we can affect as of the moment is the time at hand. Most of us have a lot of hang ups in what went before. And the more we linger on that thought, the more we got stuck to a motionless present which will soon become an unproductive past if we let it get the best of us.

Another wall that hinders us from dealing with the present is that we worry too much about the future. Let's take this man as an example. Instead of attending his child's ball games, he volunteers to stay at work to impress his employer and hopes that he will be promoted in three years. Sadly, he dies on his second year with the company; he never got promoted and missed all the games of his child. Deal with what you have at the moment to avoid would have-could have in the future.

Life may not always be as simple as professional hair straighteners or ties, but it will surely become better if we learn to let go of a past. And although thinking and preparing for a good future is not bad, we should never worry about it too much, because once we do, we end up ignoring the good things we currently have. And when we finally realized that we have so many things to be thankful for, the chance to appreciate it has already slipped away.

Igniting Your Overall Beauty

By Marie Watson

Overall beauty is not always easy to achieve at first. Everyone wants to look their best all the time, but few know how to go about doing it. It takes effort and practice to know what makes you look and feel good. Beauty is a combination of many attributes, some physical, and some mental. What you invest in yourself is what will make you gorgeous to those around you. Being beautiful is more than just wearing the right make up and having the right hairstyle. It is more than clothes and jewelry. It is attitude. What you have on the inside has a lot to do with what people see on the outside.

Behold This

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Who the beholder is, is you. When you are looking for overall beauty, you have to look from within yourself. No one can make you feel good; it is something that you have to find on your own. Self-esteem is the first path to looking good. When you have good self-esteem you are more inclined to go out of your way to look good. Not for other people. You look good for you. When you have good esteem, you know that how you feel matters. You have the right to look good for you. Your attitude will take you a long way into looking better on the outside. How one looks is a direct reflection on how one feels.

Feeling Good About You

Feeling good about you is the key to looking good. Overall beauty comes from within. When you feel good and want to shine, you will go out of your way to make sure you look your best. The opposite can be said as well. When you are having a rotten day, you tend to not care how you look. Many people will not even bother to dress well or try to put their best foot forward. When you are trying to ignite beauty from inside and out, your emotional state can go a long way. Always try to meet your emotional needs and make yourself feel good all the time if you can. This will make you wake up with a smile, get dressed in that sassy outfit, spruce up your face and hair and show the world what you have.

Confidence Is The Key To Looking Good

Self-confidence is not only appealing to the opposite sex; it is appealing to everyone who knows you. Overall beauty includes inner beauty. You cannot shine on the outside if you are not shining on the inside. What you think of yourself can go a very long way in how you express yourself on the outside. If you want to look good without even trying, then self-confidence is where to start. When you love who you are and know you are spectacular, then it is easy to just look great with no trying at all. People see the dynamic you no matter what you wear or how you look. You also just know how to put your best foot forward without any effort at all.

Enhancing Your Natural Beauty

By Linda Farington

Every one has a natural beauty. Tapping into it is key. There are several things anyone can do to increase how good they look. What you wear, how you act, and many other things contribute to whom you are and the beauty you possess. When you are looking to enhance what you have to be even better, you will want to look at what you have been doing and see where improvement needs to be. There are many things you can do to help out Mother Nature. Many of them are very easy and only take moments to do.

Eating For A Healthy Body

Eating healthy to enhance your natural beauty is probably the easiest thing you can do. The best way to start is by cutting out any high fat foods. This means giving up fried foods and many types of fast food. These can have a very negative effect on one's complexion and waistline.
Adding more vegetables and fruits will definitely help and are much better for you. Making sure to have plenty of foods that contain essential vitamins and minerals to aid in healing, shiny skin and hair, and promote a healthy weight is very important. Not only will you look and feel great, eating right will help you stay focused and enhance what you can accomplish. Refines sugars are the hardest to give up for most people. Try to cut down as best as you can. Extra sugar not only goes straight to your thighs, it can cause acne and other skin blemishes.

Using Cosmetics The Right Way

For those who love to where make-up, you can still capture your natural beauty. The entire point of cosmetics is to enhance what you have, not to look all made up. When it comes to putting on cosmetics you will always want to remember that less is more. It is a matter of using a product to bring out the best part of your features, while hiding those that are less appealing.
The last thing you want to do is draw extra attention to your flaws by caking make-up all over your face. A small amount of foundation to even out your complexion, some blush to enhance your cheek bones, and some eye make up to enhance your eyes, is all you need.

Dressing To Look Good

IF you really want to enhance your natural beauty using what you have, learn how to dress right. Just because something looks good on the shelf or on someone else, does not mean it looks good on you. You must dress to accentuate what you have, while it hides any flaws. Certain people should wear certain styles of clothes. Learn what body type you have and then go look for clothes that fit that body. It may be more difficult to find things you like by appearance alone, but you will learn. Grab items in colors you like and just try them on. You will most likely find that you love the outfit once you see what it does for you.

Foundation Formulas Uncovered

By Victoria Cochrane

As every Makeup Artist knows, foundation is the secret to a great makeup look. But, while there are a lucky few with perfect looking skin, most women need a little help in creating that flawless finish.

Liquid foundations as well as powder and creme formulas can enhance the look of skin, help to even out skin-tone, camouflage imperfections and create a more flawless complexion. Eye, lip and cheek colour look better and more defined next to even-toned skin.

Many foundation formulas existing today also contain an SPF sun protection as well as anti-oxidants, which benefits supplement your skincare and help to give you added protection from the elements.

The texture of your foundation should depend on your skin type. If you have oily or combination skin, you may like to choose a powder foundation to help your skin to remain shine-free all day. If you do go for a liquid foundation however, choose a matte formula, followed by a shine-absorbing powder.

If your skin is dry, choose a liquid foundation with a creamy base or a creme formula which will have moisturising properties. This will help prevent your foundation from clinging to dry areas of your face and will help to keep your skin hydrated throughout the day.

For the summer months you may consider using a tinted moisturiser; many tinted moisturisers have SPF and therefore protect your skin while providing all the hydration and light coverage you need.

It's also important to find the right shade and finish of foundation so your skin appears as natural looking as possible. According to a recent study, 84-96% of women are wearing the wrong foundation shade.

Foundation colours are best tested on your jaw line and not on the back of your hand, as some people may suggest. To get a perfect match, visit your nearest counter and ask an expert. Make sure they test at least 3 shades and formulas against your skin. Take a hand mirror with you to the window and make sure you see what the colour looks like in natural light, as the in-store lighting can be deceptive. The shade closest to your natural skin colour is the one you should choose.

Depending on the type of finish you require, you may want to set your foundation with a powder, however if you prefer a 'dewy' finish, you might want to skip this stage and choose a cream blusher to finish your look.

Victoria Cochrane writes on a number of topics on behalf of a digital marketing agency and a variety of clients. As such, this article is to be considered a professional piece with business interests in mind.

Lip Tips - Beauty

By Cancan Wang

Nice lips are every woman's wish but as we get older some things grow and some things shrink, and never in the order we wish. Your lips are going to get smaller and thinner. Now stop! It's not the end of the world. There are plenty of things you can do to make your lips look fuller.

Lipstick always looks best when your lips are nice and smooth. To keep your lips smooth exfoliate them and always wear some type of lip balm when not wearing lipstick.

Start by applying lip liner to define the shape of your lips and make them larger. By the way you can use it to make your lips look smaller too. Make sure your lip pencil is nice and sharp so as to create a very narrow line.

Lips too Large- Use deeper colors and avoid shiny glosses. Deep colors help make the lips look smaller.

Lips too Small- Apply a small amount of lip gloss to middle of the bottom lip. Vaseline or a petroleum base product will also work in this case.

Tips for Luscious Lips

We all want luscious kissable lips. Here are a few tricks to help you achieve those beautiful lips.

•For longer lip color wear, apply lip color and blot off the excess, this will help set your color.
Then apply a thin layer of pressed powder and apply color again. This will give your color something to cling on to.

•A thin layer of chapstick will also hold your lip color in addition to healing dry, chap lips.

•For fuller, poutier lips, apply lip gloss in the center of your lips.

•Lip lacquers give lips a high glossy look . This can be used alone or in conjunction with lip color.

•For those evenings out on the town, use a lip gloss with a little glitter or an iridescent shade over your color.

•If you like the matte look, use a lip primer before your apply lip color to keep your lips from drying out.

When buying lip balms makes sure they have SPF protection. Some lipsticks also have SPF protection. It's a good idea to use it all the time if possible.

See with a few little make up artist tricks you'll have beautiful lips all day long!

Developing a Beauty Routine That Works

By Elizabeth Roth

Women want to look their best. There are also increasing numbers of men who are interested in this and who are spending more time on taking care of their skin and their hair. Since this is the case it is important to find the beauty routine that works for you. Just seeing something on television or the Internet that looks promising is often not enough. Just because it works well on the person who is trying it or just because it looks good on the model does not mean that it will work the same way for everyone. The mistake that many people make is that they hear about a particular beauty treatment or routine and the person who uses it says how wonderful it is.
Because of that these people try that routine - often spending a lot of money on products - and they find that the products do not work for them in the same way that they worked for the other person. This is disappointing and can be very frustrating, not to mention expensive as well.

Instead of wasting valuable time and money on something like that, you should spend time finding what will be the best choice for your skin type and what you are trying to accomplish. Some people have skin which is very dry and they need to moisturize it very frequently. Other people have oily skin and they need a way to dry it out. Still others have other types of problems such as acne, scars, or wrinkles that they want to minimize without drastic treatment options.
With this being a concern for them they should not just buy the first generic beauty product that they see, even if it is supposedly guaranteed to fix their problem. Thanks to the Internet you can now find all kinds of reviews and opinions on virtually everything. You should make your own decisions but reading the opinions of others can help to give you an idea of whether you think a product might work well for you. It can aid in making your decision and choosing the right options instead of wasting your money.

Another thing to do is to pay attention to product labels. A lot of people have allergies and if this is the case for you it might be better for you to get products that are all natural so that they do not have a lot of harsh chemicals in them. These kinds of chemicals can cause everything from minor irritations to serious reactions. It is much better to be safe than sorry, and you can still find everything you need to protect and restore your skin. Getting products to use on your skin cannot and will not equal surgical results but they are a good alternative for people who are not interested in plastic surgery, cannot afford it, or do not really need it. Minor lines and wrinkles can be lessened and some elasticity and natural glow can be restored to skin by determining what products are best for you, shopping for the best deals on those products, and then using them faithfully.

Elizabeth Roth owns a hair care products site that offers free beauty tips. In addition to advice, the site offers salon shampoos, styling products, and Redken Hair Products. For more information, visit her site today.

Where Have All the Good Hairdressers Gone?

By Brittany Shea

How many times have you gone to your hairdresser with this beautiful, amazing hairstyle/color in mind, and explain it to the hairdresser: what you want and do not want, and it turns out hideous? I know I have. Whether it be highlights, a perm, coloring, haircut, layers, etc. Where have all the good hairdressers gone? Do I really have to be in Hollywood to get great hair? The biggest problem to me has been highlights. My highlights have never ever turned out the way I imagine it, and I do my best to explain it precisely and detailed.

I have always complained to my boyfriend telling him how I want pretty blonde highlights and how everyone messes up my hair and the highlights always look orange! Well, he is a bartender and a man always comes into his bar that owns a salon in Dallas. He thought if he hooks him up, maybe the owner of the salon would hook him up. Keep in mind, this is supposed to be this great salon that rich people go to and always have the best hair.

Anyways, he got a discount, and surprised me with a hair appointment! When I arrived at my appointment, I realized the actual owner was doing my hair! I was so excited... I thought this time it had to work right, and I would get the blonde highlights I've always wanted. So I explained to him my past experiences with hairdressers, and how I wanted platinum blonde highlights, NOT orange! I sat under the dryer with the aluminum foil in my hair for over an hour. He kept checking it, smiling, looking satisfied. I was stoked, and could not wait to see my new highlights.

Finally, it was time. As he unwrapped each piece of foil, my heart sank. My highlights were ORANGE! There was no way this was happening....again. Then, what does he say to me? "There, blonde!" No, not blonde. ORANGE. These were orange highlights once again. I probably should have stayed and told him to try and fix it, but no. I was so mad, I just left. I went to the store and bought black hair dye, and just dyed my hair back!

Hairdressers are also notorious for cutting hair too short. Always tell a hairdresser you want it an inch longer than you really do, because they definitely will cut that inch! I just wish I could find some good, verified hairdressers, with maybe some commentary about them? These sites might be able to help..

8 Reasons For Choosing Shea Butter Products

By David Karlson

Shea butter products are one of the most popular and effective skin care cream on the market today. This truly wonderful product is from the African continent. It is derived from the Karite tree, it is also known as the Shea-Karite tree. The butter is made from the nut that grows on the tree. The nuts are picked, cracked, pounded and boiled for several hours.

Once it has boiled for several hours, the butter rises to the surface. The butter is scooped out and left to cool and harden at room temperature. This is how your Shea butter products are made. This product will keep its consistency at room temperature; however, it will turn to a liquid at body temperature, which is why it is to apply to your skin.

Shea butter products have a nutty smell since they are derived from a nut. As far as the color is concerned, it can range from a creamy color to a grayish yellow color. This particular natural product has quite a number of benefits. Here is a list of some of the benefits you will notice if you use this cream:

• Relieves dry itchy skin

• Moisturizes the skin

• Can be used as a sun screen

• Relieves a dry scalp

• Helps treat eczema

• Helps reduce acne

• Helps reduce wrinkles and blemishes

• Good for a sunburn

On the market today, you can find quite a few different Shea butter products. Among the products available are shea butter soap, lotion, body wash, moisturizer, massage creams and massage oils.

If you notice your Shea butter products becoming rancid then throw them away. Store the products in a cool place, they should last about two years. If it does happen to melt, then just give it a stir and put it in a cooler location to harden.

In conclusion, if you are serious about following a natural skin care regimen then Shea butter products are excellent choices to make. In order to get the full benefit of this product, make sure you are purchasing a pure product. It will cost more for the pure stuff but it will be worth it.

Our research has identified some of the best natural body butters on the market. One of these products is Shea Butter.
