1. A nice head massage with warm olive oil or coconut oil or castor oil before head bath will make hair softer, shiny and stronger. If you don't have time in morning, do the massage at night and let your hair soak in the oil.
2. Ensure that the shampoo you use is suitable for your hair type. After shampooing, use a deep, nourishing conditioner. One can also use following home made conditioner: take appropriate amount of mayonnaise (make sure it is real mayonnaise and not the one for salad dressing) and coat your hair in it. Massage it well for 3 minutes and then cover with a shower cap or a hot damp towel and leave for 30 minutes. Shampoo as usual and you have ultra soft shiny hair.

Apple cider vinegar has rich in alpha-hydroxy acids which make the hair softer and smoother. Use half cup in one quarter of water as final rinse after shampooing.
6. For extra moisturizing, you can also add a few drops of honey to your conditioner.
7. For giving extra fluffiness to the hair, use a hair brush to comb when hair is nearly dry. Repeat at intervals and use only the hair brush to comb.
8. There are different types of brushes to give different effects to your hair.
- A round brush will flip the hair up from roots and give volume to hair.
- Paddle brush is perfect for straightening the hair.
- While a wide tooth comb is best to detangle wet hair, using narrow tooth comb will make the hair straighter on drying.
9. Another way of adding volume is to comb it backwards. Bend your head down and comb from roots to the tip. Then flip your hair back and use fingers to settle the hair down.
10. After the cake is baked what you need as the finishing touch is the icing. So after you are through with the basic steps, use hair accessories like hair clips, hair pins etc to jazz up the style and you are ready to hit the floor!!

Eye Bags, Puffy Eyes & Dark Circles Too

Brian PotterAs one ages, it is very natural to experience certain changes not only in the overall appearance of your skin but in particular to that area of skin just below your eyes. Looking in the mirror and suddenly there they are, staring back at you, appearing from no where, the dreaded bags, bags under your eyes and those dark circles under your eyes. This can be a cause for panic as the eyes are the focal point of our face and there they are telling all the world that the passing years have taken their toll, they have not been kind to us.
Is this just the natural process of aging when every thing, due perhaps to the forces of gravity, begins to droop? Loose and sagging skin, dark circles around the eyes, bags under the eyes and crow's feet?
Eye bags usually form over time where the skin and the soft tissues under the eyes lose their firmness. Fatty deposits begin to form, start to bulge and become more and more visible. Dark circles form as blood vessels just below the surface of that thin area of skin under your eyes begin to leak slightly and show through as a dark bluish discoloration. Despite those passing years there are ways to reduce the effect of eye bags or puffy eyes and dark circles.
Puffy eyes for instance may be the result of excessive use of eye creams. Don't use too much, a little goes a long way. At night while you sleep if you have used too much your body heat can cause it to melt and slide into your eyes. To avoid this use only a very small amount and tap it gently along the eye socket bone with your finger tips. Puffy Eyes can also be a sign of poor circulation, to help circulation improve try tapping with your fingers lightly along the eye sockets from the inside corner to the outer eye.
Lack of sleep, tiredness, stress and too much alcohol can all contribute to this problem and you may therefore consider a change of lifestyle. Try a chill-out for ten minutes or so by relaxing with cotton wool pads soaked in witch hazel and placed over your eyes.
Dark circles again can be due to poor circulation or a build up of toxins because of a poor diet, too many cigarettes, too much alcohol or coffee. For dark under eye circles try a brisk walk and do some facial exercises, this may well give a kick start to the lymphatic drainage system. You may also try the home remedy of placing cold slices of cucumber or potato over your eyes whilst relaxing for ten minutes or so.
No matter what your age you'll want your skin looking its best so remember it does reflect your lifestyle and what you eat. Start today if you are not already following a skin care regime for tomorrow you may well be glad that you did.

Three basic changes may be observed in people with abdominal bulges:
- Stretched Skin
- Excess Fat
- Weakened Abdominal Wall
Stretched skin occurs in people who gained or lost weight or more commonly following pregnancy. Today there is no effective way to tighten the sagging abdominal skin other than having it surgically removed. This procedure is known as a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty. The incision for a tummy tuck is placed low so that the scar can be hidden behind underwear. Fat accumulation in the abdominal area can also be resistant to diet and exercise. In such cases, unwanted fat can be removed with liposuction or a tummy tuck. The abdominal wall consists of abdominal muscles and a membrane between these muscles called a fascia.
With age or following pregnancy the fascia stretches causing the abdomen to bulge. Abdominal exercises frequently fail to tighten the stretched fascia. This fascia can be effectively tightened using sutures during a tummy tuck to improve the contour of the abdomen. Most people go home the same day after a tummy tuck and return to work in about 10-14 days. The new shape of the abdomen is evident immediately after the procedure and continues to improve over the next several months.

Three Steps To A Positive Body Image

Laura TurnerIn their book: The Body Has a Mind Of Its Own, authors Sandra and Matthew Blakeslee tell us that the image we have of our own body is not always an accurate one. At times, and of no fault of our own, the brain can create a skewed reading of what it perceives in the mirror. If this is true, and we can create negative views of what we perceive in our mind's eye, I believe we can also train our thoughts to create positive images. It simply takes a bit of work, focus and mental fine tuning. Further, if your body-image could use a shift from luke-warm to a positive boil, read on for my three steps that can help get you there.
Step One: Create A Baseline
Even if you are pleased with the image of the body you see in the mirror before you, it never hurts to take inventory of where you are right now. And if you'd like to make a change, the exercise that follows is a good way to begin. With this said, I personally advocate taking time out (especially this time of year) to evaluate how you currently feel about your body and check in with your personal proprioception (how you feel in the company of others). I invite you to give it a try. There are plenty of ways to do this online. I personally used the quiz at Netdoctor to give me a baseline of what my mind perceives about me - right now.
Step Two: Love Your Body As It Is
In step one I've suggested that you periodically take an inventory of your body image. In the same way, I believe we should all take time each day to give thanks for what we already have and to love ourselves as we are - right now. This exercise in self-love and awareness, in my experience, works to marry all parts of the "self," mind, body and spirit. With this in mind, and to aim to love my body as it is, I use a regimen inspired by the beautiful book You Can Heal Your Life, by Louise L. Hay. The exercise is simply this: First, take an overview of your body and then make note of what you love about it.
Next, let what you love about yourself expand. Do this each day by taking time in the mirror to practice sending love to yourself. Send love to the parts of yourself you admire the most and let this positive energy expand. Each day find a new part of yourself to love and send it positive energy. In time, I think you'll find, piece by piece, you will put yourself back together as a fully realized positive entity.
Step Three: Make A Plan To Change
When you are taking inventory of all the things you love about yourself, you will ultimately find things about the current "you" that you'd like to change. In my mind, the hardest part about creating a positive body image is letting go of the things we cannot change about ourselves. For example, we can't change (naturally) our bone structure, eye color, genetic makeup. Yet, there are things (within reason) that we can do something about. Nutrition, fitness and weight. These are all positive changes we can work toward making and managing.
With this in mind, you don't necessarily need expensive equipment or gym memberships to take care of your body. If it's weight you'd like to lose and you are not already - get yourself moving. Be sure to add resistance training into your workout, as well. And continue to look for simple ways you can lose weight if you need to. Temporary hair color is generally an acid based formula which will coat the hair and will not penetrate into the hair shaft. This enables the hair color to wash out after you shampoo a few times.
Yet another hair color option which you have is semi-permanent hair color. Since it has smaller molecules than the temporary hair color, it can penetrate into the hair shaft, and thus, this lasts longer than the temporary dye. But, this type of dye will not last as long as the permanent hair colors because it does not use a developer.
If you want a hair color which will last for a long time, you can opt for a demi-permanent hair color. This type of dye uses a hair color cream which has a mild developer. This kind of hair color is best for covering up grey hair, and typically lasts for a few months.
After you decide which length of time you want your hair color to last, you have to decide whether you want a chemical or natural hair coloring. You will get a temporary hair color through natural colorants.
Cranberry juice, henna and tea are some of the natural hair tints which you can choose to use. You can find chemical hair colors in the local hair salon and these come in do-it-yourself kits. Even though natural hair color agents are gentler on the skin and hair than the chemical ones, they do not last very long.
The last thing which you will have to consider when you are looking around for the color which will suit you most us what kind of color you think would look best in you. Long Hair Vs Short Hair

Jene PedderThere is always a continuously changing new fashion haircut from the Pob - Victoria Beckham's famous bob hair cut to the feathered long hair of Jennifer Aniston. Hairstyles and haircuts I feel are an important statement for everyone, it's the first thing most people look at your face and of course your hair frames your face.
I'm guessing you've all had a hair disaster or mistake somewhere along the line or a hairstyle or colour you regret now. I will always remember a few years ago the layered look came into fashion and as I love the colour pink I wanted something different so went for the layered look very short layers on top too with bright pink coloured hair between the layers. Yes it looked fab but when I wanted to grow my hair again oh dear bad mistake. To this day, I'm still growing the layers out and that was 5 years ago, in many ways I wish I had never had it done but it was nice at the time.
If you've got short hair there is only a certain amount of styles you can have a go at and also the option of having it up if you want. The shorter you have your hair you have less chance of being able to do this, that's why personally I couldn't have short hair all the time would drive me nuts.
The bob that Victoria Beckham had created in the summer of 2007 became so popular thousands of people had their locks cut off to sport a new short bob called the Pob. I was tempted as I liked it but I knew I would get bored very quickly, I am one of those people who gets bored with the style and colour of their hair very quickly. I'm always trying something new out, a new colour, whether it be a new shade of blonde or adding a hint of pink somewhere.
A short hair cut can suit a lot of people from short and spiky to short and sleek, whatever your style may be, make sure it suits your face shape, always best to ask your hairstylist on what kind of cut they think would suit you.
If you're hair is long then your like me, I just keep growing mine the longer the better, well I think I would have to have it cut if it got to my lower back. With long hair you have more to play with, from layers to feathering the front layers or having a variety of colours placed into the hair. I love having the ability to have my hair down when I want using a middle or side parting to having it up in a ponytail, pigtails, plait, bun or a messy up do. The list is endless with long hair, you can do what you want, of course it's more difficult it you have layers put in as I found out, but handy grips come in place then. If you're lazy like me some days, you can just put your hair back in a ponytail and leave the house, having short hair I know I couldn't do this.
Whatever the length of your hair I'm guessing you like styling it in the ways you can. I like to have the option to what to do with my hair and with long hair this is possible from up do's to down do's. I would definitely go with long hair any day but I know other people prefer short hair, they find it easier to manage but I found it more difficult, always having to style it, at least with long hair you can leave it to dry and put it up when you want.
So what's your favourite hair length short or long, mine is definitely long!

Winter is all about taking your makeup style to new extremes, and there are a few tips you should follow, to move from summer time diva to winter time goddess.
Blush is essential when the main color around you is white. At no time should a women apply foundation and powder and just walk out of the house. The natural tones and shades of the skin are uneven and vary in color. The only thing you will accomplish, is looking like one of the neighbor's snowmen. Try using your bright or dark summer blush colors in combination with your setting powder. This will lighten the color just enough to appear natural on your lighter winter skin.
Moisturize those lips and not just for a kiss. Licking your lips during winter winds and cold will cause them to crack and even bleed, within minutes of going outside. 1) Consume:
a) fruits and vegetables that are:
fresh, raw when possible
in variety and different colors
preferable local produce
b) wholesome food & grains
c) fresh & nutritious foods
d) good quality probiotics in sufficient dosag
e) adequate clean water
2) Avoid:
a) cold drinks after meals, especially carbonated water
b) high sugary foods and drinks
c) deep fried and oily foods
d) dairy products, if possible
e) over eating,
f) putting off toilet visit when there is an urge
3) Eating habits:
Eat on time. Take time to eat in a relaxed manner to enjoy your food. Eating slowly gives you time to chew your food, and allow your body to tell you that you are full before you overeat.
4) Sufficient exercise:
Studies indicate that 60 minutes per day with a minimum 3-4 days per week is the best. If you are just starting out or have not been exercising regularly, avoid strenuous exercises. Puffy Eyes
