Waxing can be scary territory for those who have never tried it before. Facial
There are many different types of facial waxing procedures. Most popular ones are upper lip and the eyebrows waxing; although, it is not uncommon for women to request chin waxes and even cheek waxes. The area to be waxed is cleaned and the pores opened up with a warm washcloth.

The aesthetician then uses a small wooden spatula to spread a thin layer of wax over the unwanted hair. In one quick motion, the wax is ripped away in the opposite direction of the growth. The procedure is repeated until all hair is removed. If any stubborn stray hairs remain, tweezers are used to pluck them out.

Legs and Arms
The legs and arms are performed in the same way as facial waxing, except larger areas of wax are spread onto the body. The aesthetician may use either muslin strips to remove the wax or will use wax that hardens and is then peeled off with no other assistance. Baby powder or another kind of soothing ointment will be spread over the area to help ease pain and calm the skin.

Bikini
This is where waxing steps into scarier territory. A bikini wax is where the hair is removed from any area that cannot be covered by a swimsuit. This generally includes the inside of the thighs, below the navel, and near the sides of the pubic area that are visible outside the bikini area.

Some women find it helpful to wear their swimsuit, but you may choose to wear any sort of undergarments you prefer. Although slightly uncomfortable, a good aesthetician will ensure little pain and embarrassment.

Brazilian
A Brazilian wax is an extension of a bikini. This method removes practically every hair in the pubic area. Some women prefer to leave a small amount above the genitalia. The aesthetician will either ask or you may request a strip (or even another shape) to be left untouched.

You will have to remove all of your clothing from the waist down; although you may be offered a small paper thong for privacy (this will have to be moved later). The aesthetician may require you to move into a variety of different positions in order to gain maximum access to successfully remove them.
