Using cosmetics was considered a prerogative of the rich and those who had access to these expensive products. Also cosmetics were elaborately dressed with packaging being larger than life.

Today tables have turned around with the influx of cosmetic companies that cater to the extremely high end while some to the lowest rung. So whatever your budget, there is surely something for you.

Some of the make-up giants that propel on the scene are Bobby Brown, MAC, Estee Lauder, and Maybelline. While Mary Kay, Lakhme, Diane of London, Revlon are middle market players. Every season these companies bring out a new range of cosmetics to suit the skin in given weather conditions.

For instance heavy moisturisers and creams make their debut in winters. Cleansers, toners, face wash and detoxifying products are lined up in the summer. Anti-dandruff shampoos, hair softening shampoos, glistening and shine hair shampoos with bath conditioners or leave in conditioners are all year products that enjoy quick sales.

Unlike picking up any product off the shelf, users have gotten more aware of what goes into the powder or lipstick. They are reading ingredients and understanding them. Those that have harmful chemicals, use animal products or tested on animals and are un-hygienically made are given a thumbs-down.

Hence players too have gotten aware of the same and are claiming to be eco-friendly and prove to be making products in the most pristine conditions. They get celebrities to endorse their product claiming it to be superior.

Cosmetics sales seem to enjoy a high curve as users have begun to use it not only for special occasions but also for a regular day to day office routine. Even college girls these days seem to have plunged into the cosmetic sea wearing basic make up to college.

And for those special occasions like a wedding, anniversary or a high end party every lady desires an expert hand that dabbles in good quality cosmetics.
