Top Tips For Oily Skin

Who loves oily skin when it gives you a greasy unattractive look? It is tough when you are already fighting for clean and clear skin. Many people go to extreme lengths, quite unsuccessfully, and make their skin condition worsen. If you know the right ways to deal with oily skin, you can make your oily skin work for you. An oily skin does not necessarily need to add to your sorrow. You can have soft, young, wrinkle-free look with oily skin as well!

Cause of Oily Skin: Generally, your skin becomes oily because of some hormonal problems, when your sebaceous glands start producing too much sebum. Apart from it certain contraceptive pills, diet, hot and humid weather and heredity are also important factors.

Tips for Oily Skin:

Wash your face with a good oil-free soap without artificial additives for at least 3 or 4 times a day regularly. You can also use soap that you feel comfortable using or as suggested by your dermatologist.

Use cold water to wash your face to tighten your skin pores.

To keep your skin feel cool and fresh, deep cotton wool in a light astringent and touch this all over your face. You can also apply astringent before wearing makeup to wipe out excess oil from your face. Do not use harsh or strong astringent because it will make your skin oilier.

Use oil-free makeup, cleanser and noncomedogenic moisturizers for taking care of oily skin.
Noncomedogenic moisturizers are water-based moisturizers that prevent clogging of skin pores. While using cleanser, make sure that it does not leave your skin too much dry. The reason is excessive drying can lead to more oily skin. Always seek professional advice whenever you are unsure about a product.

Instead of using cream, use a good lotion or a gel if you want to moisturize your skin.

Use a good face scrub to exfoliate your skin every alternate nights so as to remove dead cells, extra oils and dirt from your skin pores and keep your skin clean. After exfoliating your skin, lightly apply moisturizer on your skin to maintain the right balance.

Drink plenty of water, at least 8 to 10 glasses everyday so as to keep your skin supple and remove toxins from the body.

Avoid eating fatty, fried, cheesy, junk or packed foods to prevent your skin to become more oily.
Some Home Remedies for Oily Skin: The following home remedies are very useful and are free from side effects. Use it for clean and clear skin:

Apply paste of a ripe tomato without its pulp all over your skin. Wait for 15-20 minutes before washing it off with plain water. Apply this treatment on your skin twice every week to remove excess oil.

Apply a mix of mint juice and rose water all over your face. Leave it for 15 minutes. Wash it off with cold water. This will keep your skin feel fresh and clean all day long.

Equally mix cucumber and lime juice and put it on your face or on our skin. Leave it for 15 minutes. Wash it off with Luke warm water or cold water.

Make a paste of clean Holy Basil leaves and apply it on your paste. This is a good remedy for drying up pimples.

Rub pulp of papaya on your face or on your oily skin. Leave it for sometime. Wash it off with water. Do it every 2 to 3 days to make your face free of pimples or acne and make your skin glow.

Apply thin slices of apples on your skin to control oily shines.

Before applying makeup, apply juice of cucumber on those areas of your face which are more prone to produce oil like forehead, chin, or on your nose and prevent yourself from looking patchy.

Oily Skin Diet: Diet is one of the most important factors that cause oily skin. Start taking protein-rich food, green leafy vegetables, and fresh fruits. Avoid eating sugar, chocolates and junk food.

The oily skin, if not treated, will lead to blackheads "due to clogged pores" and builds dead skin cells, rendering the skin difficult to maintain. Complexion becomes sallow looking and pores become visible. The right method is to clean the skin with a mild detergent that contains no fatty substances or oils. These kinds of detergents remove the excess sebum that cause grime accumulation, at the same time removing the grime. Removal of surface grime will help reducing formation of blemishes and pimples.
