What is Electrolysis in the Modern World?

Society has developed in such a way that it has almost always been considered as unsuitable for women to be hairy. Having a gorgeous mane of hair hanging down a woman's back is seen as very beautiful and feminine. However, body hair has always been seen as a masculine trait. Over the centuries different societies have come up with ways to get rid of unwanted hair. Some of these methods have involved sugar and honey. In the Middle East women use a method called threading. In western culture waxing has been widely used because the hair does take four to six weeks to grow again. But waxing is painful no matter how experienced the consultant is.

About one hundred and thirty years ago the concept of electrolysis was discovered. This method was so effective that it has been thoroughly researched and written about. Electrolysis is being used right up until today and there is no other method that can rival it apart from laser treatment. Laser treatment is more recent and this method works well if there is a large area of hair to be covered. On the other hand, electrolysis is the far better choice for smaller areas such as the face. Many women have shadowy fuzz on their upper lip. Once again, this may be completely natural but it is frowned upon in the beauty and femininity stakes. Electrolysis will quickly rid you of this unwanted hair.

Different techniques are used when administering electrolysis. But all of these techniques are based on the use of an electrical current. A very fine needle is inserted into the hair follicle. An electrical current is released. It is the electrical current that kills the follicle and therefore no hair will ever grow again. From this it can be understood that the more hair follicles there are the longer the treatment will take. Most people visit a salon or clinic over a period of time. This is one of the reasons why there are more and more people who are turning to do it yourself electrolysis. If you do not have a very steady hand, a keen eye and a lot of patience then do not try to do this procedure by yourself.

Electrolysis is very safe. But there are certain individuals who should get their doctors approval first. If you have any medical condition then it is best to ask first. This is a treatment that has a very firm place in the modern world because so many cultures want women in particular to be hair free. It is becoming standard for many men to have hair removed and electrolysis is the most effective means of doing this. The demand for this treatment is not diminishing in any way.
