The Truth About Professional Products in the Grocery Store

By Kennedy Senu-Oke

You may have asked yourself, should I buy my products at the salon or wait until I go to the grocery store, because it's more convenient.

Answer: You should be purchasing all your products from your stylist at the hair salon.
Products bought from the hair salon have a higher concentration of chemicals in their products than what you'll find in the ones at the grocery store. These products should also be used only as directed.

*Always Remember* Professional products are ONLY guaranteed when they are purchased from a professional stylist at a hair salon.

When purchasing products that have been diversified you never know what you are going to get.
What is diversion?

Diversion is when professional products are sold and show up in grocery, drug, retail stores and flea markets.

Who does diversion hurt ?

Diversion hurts the consumer, salons, distributors and manufacturers.

When buying products that have been diversified you never know what you're going to get. The products have more than likely already been tampered with. These products are typically outdated, diluted, discontinued and/or damaged without your knowledge.

Although diversion is not illegal there will be a breach in their contracts.

So you're wondering, how do the grocery stores get these professional salon products anyway ?
The products are not coming directly from the manufacturers which is an automatic red flag.
Wholesalers not affiliated with the salons are selling the products to the grocery stores and as usual no one is asking questions since it's business and worse yet all about the money and not all the other people and businesses getting hurt in the process by this activity. However, even salons that have been in financial troubles and end up going out of business have been known to sell their inventory to the grocery store as well.

Are the products in your grocery store safe to use ?

Tests have been performed by FOX News in studies that have found that there is enough bacteria to make the user sick enough to require medical attention.

Products that have been tested also have shown that there is evidence to prove that they were either counterfeit or very old.

Consider this study thoroughly and decide whether it's worth it or not to take the "convenient" route rather than the sensible one. Then again this is your hair and your family members hair that we're talking about. It would be nice to get to a point where common sense prevails over making or saving a buck.

Is there a price difference ?

The professional products you purchase at the grocery store is usually the same price if not more. However once again, you're not even getting the real products and hence you're wasting your money.. so remember that the next time you're spending your money.

Stylists have been trained, certified and have a license in all hair types to give you what's best for your hair. It is to your benefit to use their expertise to help you and your family when it comes to working with professional products.

The "Black Market" is the Black Market no matter what is being sold. Consider this..... you are supporting the black market and risking you and your families well being every time you purchase products at the grocery store.
